Our fishing experience at Jurassic was totally spoilt by one of the “Guides/Advisors”, who was rude, aggressive and very unprofessional within the first hour of our arrival at Jurassic. On our arrival he came over and just introduced himself by name, we asked him if he “was one of the guides” and was very rudely told “he was not a guide, they do NOT have guides, they do not guide you, you are here to fish and use your own expertise” and he continued to be rude and aggressive for the remainder of our stay, when raising this with the Owner via email he referred to the rude man “as a guide”, so all very contradicting. Having been very fortunate to fish at many resorts worldwide, all of the guides/advisers we have met over the years have always been welcoming, friendly, sharing their fishing experience/tips, sadly this was not the case at Jurassic.

We had booked on a recommendation and had been so looking forward to the experience, sadly not a good one, so would definitely not recommend.

Accommodation – good, Restaurant/Bar food and Thai staff good.

Alan, thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your recent fishing experience at Jurassic. I would like to offer my apologies for the behavior you said was exhibited by one of our team, which then resulted in a disappointing and unprofessional encounter during your stay. Firstly, the person you’re referring to in your review is Oliver, this man has had nothing but glowing reviews on this platform, not a single negative remark so this is clearly out of character and would be apparent to anyone reading other reviews on this site, Alan, he been an exemplary member of staff during the time he has worked here and knowing his work ethic my question is, was this just a storm in a teapot blown out of peroration for other reasons? The reason I say storm in a teapot Alan, is because there are a few aspects of your wife’s emails that have left me confused. I would like to question, why if this member of staff was consistently rude to you for five consecutive days was it not brought up immediately. It has perplexed me as most individuals would typically voice their concerns to management immediately, however after checking there was no mention of any issues being raised with any staff member during your time here. So, Alan why was nothing mentioned to anyone until returning to the United Kingdom why would you allow this to carry on for 5 days, especially at the level your wife stated in her mails, as she has portrayed this as borderline bullying. Then the penny dropped, it started, your wife sending her first detailed email outlining the alleged problems, to which I responded promptly. Subsequently, the 2nd email was received wherein your wife mentioned she feels very strongly about sharing her holiday experiences on TripAdvisor and then, lo and behold in the same paragraph she requested financial compensation. Alan, given these circumstances and since this matter has now been made public it will be left up to others to form their own opinions as to why TripAdvisor and financial compensation were written in the same paragraph by your wife, and finally was Oliver really rude to the degree mentioned in your wife’s emails or again was this simply a storm in a teacup that she has blown out of all proportion to align with her TripAdvisor and financial compensation request, again, we will leave this to the general public to decide. Alan on a positive note, I am happy pleased to hear that you found our accommodation satisfactory and enjoyed dining at our restaurant/bar while also having positive interactions with our Thai staff members. Once again, please accept my apologies for any inconvenience caused during your fishing experience at Jurassic. We appreciate your feedback as it allows us an opportunity for growth and improvement. Kind regards

Fabulous visit, dreams fulfilled. Had an amazing time, fabulous food, accommodation, hospitality. Fishing is what you make it. Listen to the guides, listen to Tom and Oliver, draw on watercraft and dream fish become a reality. Broke my pb 5 times in a say, it doesn't get much better than that.

A double thumbs up from 2 ex Queensland fishing inspectors. If this isn't on your bucket list, add it immediately and tick it off as soon as you can. Definitely worth visiting this very scenic playground of giant freshwater species native to Thailand. Surrounded my mountains and tropical gardens. A big thanks to Mark, the owner, and to his staff, including Oliver and Foong, for making it an amazing experience.

Stunning setting, run by staff who love this place ,shows in there commitment to the resort and guests , Khao Nang Panthurat forest park is right out the back gate with a good hiking trail if you want a day off from the fishing , spent three days here after a busy bangkok just needed to relax and take in a bit of rural Thailand, done the trick , perfect 🙏

First trip to Jurassic Resort - a great experience. Have never fished in Thailand before so can’t compare Jurassic to some of the other fisheries . The setting is stunning and the facilities are great , for both “anglers” and “non-anglers” alike - my wife is proof of that ! Rooms are decent, the food & drink are excellent quality and sensibly priced.

We had 5 nights at the resort with 4 days fishing,

The guides give you the basics , in its simplest form you are either fishies boilies for the Siamese Carp ( and a few other species ) on the bottom and feeding pellets over the top , or you are fishing fish/meat based baits for predators such as catfish , gar and the much sought after Arapaima. All tackle is supplied , including rigs and you exchange bait vouchers for your chosen products - note some baits you have to buy and vouchers cannot be used.

This approach caught me ten Siamese Carp to 100 pounds ( and lost a few ) as well as six red tail catfish to 45 pounds . Your approach and target fish can depend on the peg being fished ( it is done on a draw system the night before - which seems a fair approach.)

The pegs all have wooden shelters with fans and seating and a table , so comfortable and shaded , the resort then uses a WhatsApp based system so you can order food, drinks, tackle, bait etc and all delivered to your peg in no time at all !

So all in all , a great time and will certainly plan to return, the service at the resort was top quality and the staff make it special - thanks to all.

I was really apprehensive about going fishing here. I am a relatively new angler restarting after lockdown so I thought I may have no idea what I was doing, all my fears were put to rest though.
I was picked up from my hotel at 6.20 & 20 mins later arrived at the resort, it’s very beautiful with manicured grounds & a stunning backdrop of limestone mountains.
I spoke to another angler who was going for predators for the first and last 2 hours and carp the rest of the time, I decided to do the same. The bait was sorted by one of the Thai gillies & I was taken to my swim. By 7am I was fishing!
Shortly after Oliver (the fishery manager ?) turned up & stayed with me chatting about the lake & fish and guided/helped me to understand how to try & catch them. After thoroughly baiting my swim up it started to bear fruit and I eventually finished the day with 8 Siamese Carp from 40lb to 160lb!
The fight to catch these huge fish was fantastic & hard work. The best bit was getting in the lake to have a photo and to see how magnificent the fish are up close. It was also good to see that the fish are checked over and given oxygen if needed.
Oliver really helped to relax me and was so friendly and helpful, the Thai gillies were great and Tom, another manager was friendly and helpful too. It truly was one of the best days of my life and my worry is how on earth am I ever going to top it?!! I’m still buzzing and it’s 2 weeks later!
Thank you Oliver and the Jurassic team.

Booked a days fishing with my son and had a great day. From the moment we submitted the online booking everything was done very professionally. When we arrived our gillie took us to our swim and got us set up and fishing. Oliver one of the owners came round and introduced himself and spent plenty of time telling us about the lake and his passion for fishing and gave us a few pointers. The food we had was very good and delivered to our swim do we didn’t even have to stop fishing. Will definitely be visiting again.

Stayed at Jurassic Mountain with my dad and brother for 5 days, absolutely loved the place, Tom,Oliver and George are great and all have great knowledge of the lake, and always willing to help, from the bar and restaurant staff to the gillies and gardeners they are all really friendly and always smiling, accommodation is great just a short walk to the lake, food was really good, especially the roast dinner on a Sunday, the resort is in a stunning location and everything is catered for hard days fishing for monsters, if your looking to go fishing in Thailand for an absolute beast of a fish then look no further than Jurassic Mountain Resort.
