I don't know what I expected here but it's just a viewing spot with views of a muddy river. Rated excellent because there's nothing wrong with the place; just manage your expectations.

Nice views of the Mekong, colourful history , some good sesame oil and natural food stores and a reasonable museum makes this a good detour in Chiang Rai. I would not spend too much time here
