The feeling of being on three borders at once is exceptional, but the view itself is quite dissapointing - only the casinos stand out. Would not recommend without a guide.

This is place is interesting as you get to see 3 country borders from one stop. There is a boat ride as well which you can take...This boat will take you to the Laos border where there is a small local market set up which you can explore. But to be honest there was nothing spectacular about the market.Plus the heat... Used to be the most notorious Golden Triangle that no one dare to enter especially the No-Man Land where all drug transaction, rival fights, killings etc took place. A place where violence is the law. The boat ride and the introduction by the guide brought me back to my History classes days where we read it on our textbooks. It is... More

Our family went to the Golden Triangle in December 2015. The scenery of the Golden Triangle was spectacular. We went for the river cruise to Laos. The journey to Laos was exciting. The stores at the Laos side accept Thai Baht. If you have the time, go try the river cruise to Laos.

Nice spot to view the golden triangle (Thailand, Myanmar & Laos) with the Mekong River. Nearby is the opium museum, so could be paired together if not staying nearby.

Myself and two friends hired a taxi from Chiang Rai and visited this area and it was a pleasant day. Coming from Australia it is interesting the concept of looking at 3 different countries in your field of vision. The nearby opium museum is also worth a visit. By the way the taxi cost us 2500baht for the full day... More

To see the three countries of Thailand,Loas and Myanmar so close together and the Mekong river flowing all around is quite spectacular, there are lots of photo opportunities, We went to each of the crossing points but did not bother to go over as it was very busy as the local markets were on,also we were told you are only allowed... Definitely worth a quick stop. Can see three countries on a clear day. Beautiful scenery on clear day.

I was impressed by the view over the massive Mekong river and the large golden Buddha is impressive. However, it is fairly busy and touristy so I can't help but wonder if there are just as spectacular views somewhere else along the river and more spiritual Buddhas to visit. If you are after an easy to get to spot though... More

The mighty Mekhong River is impressive in its own right, and it's interesting to see three countries - Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar - from one place. This is one of those places that you can tell your friends you visited. It is worth a quick stop, presumably on your way to or from someplace else (the Hall of Opium, which... More
