As from 1st October 2017 we are proud to announce that trekking will no longer be offered at Hutsadin, instead we offer our visitors a range of activities that promote a close interaction with our elephants. In a safe environment for both elephant and visitor. Here you can take a bareback ride, walk with an elephant, shower and feed them or simply visit us. We also offer educational talks 3 days a week and a 3 hour mahout experience is available twice a week. Check out our website activities page where you will find full descriptions of the activities that we offer along with costs.

Super half day here, especially for the kids, who get up close to the animals. Some comments here about chains/cost etc. We spoke with the English speaking volunteers who work there (largely retirees, one has been there 12 years). They have to keep the animals...More

As one of the long term volunteers here I can say with total honesty that our elephants are loved, respected and cared for. Of course we have to charge for activities - how would we be able to pay for food, medication, vets and staff...More

This place is not or doesn’t seem to be an hospital at all. Looks like another safari were elephants are exploited. I asked what kind of disease the animals had, but the answer was that they are just old... There were some tourists doing photos...More

We do understand that the sign saying Elephant Hospital can give rise to an image of sick and infectious elephants being given treatment. The reality is that all of the elephants that we have in our care were, when they came to us very sick,...More

We had a lovely afternoon at Hutsadin with three children (7, 5, 1). We took the youngest elephant out for a walk for about 30 minutes. The elephant was extremely gentle and looked very relaxed and happy.

We had a fantastic time walking with a rescued elephant. Our guide was awesome. We were happy to notice that the elephants, rescued from situations where they were abused, in this center were treated with respect and love.

We only charge for the activity that you choose to do, so prices vary. I'm afraid we are no longer to give the free tour. Check out our website, address on this page and go to the activities page for our options :)
