Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

One of the few shops in Hua Hin without pushy vendors standing at the door, That non-intrusive nature continued as my friends and I leisurely shopped for Xmas pressies, buying lots of unique souvenirs in the process.

I picked up a really nice wallet made from teak tree leaves and my wife got her hands on some sandals made from water hyacinth.

Everything on display has a story and it's well-worth reading the information provided – this will be sure to make you feel extra pleased with your purchase.

I've travelled around Thailand extensively over the past decade and it's a shame there aren't more quality, honest and affordable boutiques like The Family Tree.

Thanks for helping to make our Christmas gifts extra special!

A very nice shop where you can buy good stuff and at the same time support social projects. The owner speaks a very good english and can explain where the things come from. Would you like to bring something home? Then I will highly recommend this shop where you can find cheap as well as expensive high quality stuff.

The place is not just a store its about people and their lives. It gives those who have no voice a platform upon which they can create unique items to help improve their lives and also improve the environment in which they live.

The shop is not only a place where you can find many beautiful and practical items but also shows you who creates the items too.

A lovely shop to browse in. The clothing was better quality than items in most Night Markets, and the shop owner was so very helpful. Make sure to check out the Organic massage oils in various scents, as well as the beautiful soaps and lotions. It was nice to realize that our purchases supported several community projects such as Hill Tribes, tree planting and tsunami victims. We actually went back a second time and purchased more. This is a gem of a shop!

We visited here a couple of times during our stay in Hua Hin last month and loved the owner and her varied, carefully selected array of fair trade crafts.

We bought organic soaps, silk scarfs, gecko magnets , silk loofahs and pewter kitchenware. All items had a provenance and we loved knowing that our purchases were helping various communities to expand. You will also find a tasteful selection of clothes, bags and jewellery, it’s all superb quality and unusual too!

Thank you so much Dtor, it was great to chat to you, your smile is infectious and your taste impeccable 😊

This is a really interesting shop, tucked away on a side street. Really lovely stories to go with souvenirs made around different parts of Thailand - which make for unique gifts and souvenirs to take back home. I was particularly impressed with the fair trade / social element to all the products sold - for example, they sell purses made by people who survived the recent tsunami.

Even if you don't plan to buy anything, I'd definitely recommend a wander inside to see the fantastic products, and hear the stories that the wonderful owner (and maybe even her children) will share with you.

Dear Jayni, Thank-you so much for your warm and thoughtful review, and your interest in the stories of the artisans and local producers who craft our gifts. Yes, the Saori group which rebuilt their life following the tsunami are really inspiring and it's wonderful to see how they moved from disaster relief to a sustainable community enterprise, now for over 10 years. You're absolutely right that everyone is warmly welcome to wander in and have a chat. Our shop showcases meaningful gifts from around the country. The stories behind our artisan partners and their hand and heart crafted treasures are a window to learn more about Thailand, and appreciate the breadth of empowered social and environmental initiatives which are happening all around Thailand. We are happy to share these stories! Kind regards and hope to meet again, Dtor and the team
