Second time I have travelled to Thailand to attend the ANZAC Day Service. Plenty of shade and seating supplied as well as water for hydration (which is a must as it was 39 degrees). Moving Ceremony involving many Nationalities and 2 former Australian POW 'Diggers'. At the conclusion of the ceremony there was food supplied. Alcohol was avaliable to purchase... More

If you plan to visit just Thailand-Burma Railway Centre, here is the another place to go. The Cemetery for victims of Japanese imprisonment while building the Burma Railway. The atmosphere in the cemetery is quiet and shady. The interior is neatly decorated. Over the grave, every hole has a brass plate inscribed with the name, age and country of the deceased.... More

As with all cemeteries managed by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission it was immaculate. There are thousands of graves here in the majority of very young men. As always, Lest We Forget.

Came here on Thursday (20th) and I was quite impressed with the way the cemetery has been kept in pristine condition. Not knowing much about the POWs on over here in Kanchanaburi, it was quite an eye opening experience and we furthered our knowledge by going to the Death Railway Museum next door.

Very well kept cemetery honoring the many GI's who perished building the railway. Worth a quick visit to pay respects and appreciate the magnitude of the whole period in history.

I guess the main reason to come to Kanchanaburi is to honour the war dead. This beautifully kept cemetery was a peaceful place to contemplate everything that we discovered about the horrors of the Thai/Burma railway.

This is fully of young men who died in the war and is kept in immaculate condition by the Thai's. It brought a tear to my eye.

It is wonderful to see the respect for our fallen here. A bit of a sad place to visit but I think necessary to understand the sacrifices. Well worth the visit and a great trip.

We did the River Kwai and Death Railway Museum on a day trip and it was worth the early departure. The Museum had a great detail and the Cemetery was very moving.
