Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Its a long drive to the falls, but it is very scenic. Nice park to rest and see the falls. Very high, and even though it was the dry season, there was plenty of water. Have a few small trails to walk to get different photo angles. I didnt walk to the base, but you can, but looks very arduous. Beautiful scenic area in the mountains.

My best friend and I love hiking and we were so excited to find a loop in the Mae Surin National Park. Here is what we did:
We took a taxi from town to Fern Resort. From Fern Resort, we walked 10 minutes to the trail head (Mae Surin Waterfall National Park - you can find it on google maps). We read online that there is an entrance fee to the park, but no one asked us to pay. The loop was about 5.5 miles total and took us two hours and 45 minutes from the resort and back. It was not too rigorous, some uphill but nothing too intense. The trail was mostly very well-marked, aside from a few moments where we were confused.
There are 17 “stations” on the hike that have sign posts with explanations - which helped us make sure we were on track.
There was a ton of spiders and insects so make sure to wear bug spray! And it’s very hot and humid in the rainy season, so bring tons of water.
It was a wonderful day and we would 100% recommend this hike! Make sure to go go Little Good Things after- the best restaurant in Mae Hong Son (and in the world)!

I spent 3 days living with Karen Tribe at Pakakeyaw Homestay. Mr Karun was very kind. I stayed in the Karen's cottage by the stream (just 5 steps walking). This place is just 1 km far from Mae Surin Waterfall. Mr Karun also offer trekking to the rice paddy which was so fantastic. I had a local coffee with the view of green rice paddy. I do suggest Karun's place to spend your free time away from modernity to touch the authenticity.

It was worth the ride on our motorbikes up the beautiful winding roads to the Mae Surin Waterfall. Once up to the area a nice walk to the park and the falls. Beautiful!!

I passed the waterfall while doing the loop from rte 108, past the waterfall to Khun Yuam.
The drive to the waterfall is amazingly fun and has gorgeous views, but I wouldn't go see the waterfall again. The charge to get in is 200 Baht, which I think is not worth the view (it is just water falling down after all). The place does have several good viewpoints however so you can at least get a good look.

Despite we’ve seen a lot of waterfalls in Thailand, I can say, that this waterfall is one of, which impressed us a lot. Yes, you cannot come to this waterfall closely and touch it, but we’ve found a special pleasure in sitting nearby, enjoying it from afar and listening the noise of water…it was simply great.

Not a lot of people. Beautiful jungle walk!
Go to fern resort, keep with the road 500 meters and you get to the check-poit to the park.

Top experience to visit the rain forest at your own pace. A loop between two small rivers and three beautiful waterfalls. Signposted with insightful Thai and English descriptions of the nature that you are visiting. Please note that it can be slippery and warm.

I'm thinking about visiting the sunflower fields of Thung Bua Thong and Surin Waterfall. The problem is that I'm not sure if the suggested route of Google Maps is possible. According to it, it is possible to take road 4009 from 1263 at Ban Kham Suk. After 22km we arrive to the waterfall. My question is if we can continue north-west until arriving to the road 108.
Can anyone tell me how does it look like? Is it a paved road or a dirty road?
Thanks!
