If you are looking for a moment of distraction, it is the best beach you can find
It's impressively big, the food is fabulous, the people there are very homey.
Its places are very incredible, it is a nice place to spend with the family, although it is a bit expensive it is completely worth traveling to this beach, what I do not like is that there are too many people, and it is a bit dirty in tourist season , if you are looking for a quiet place and not a place of family adventures, better look for another place, you will definitely not find the tranquility you are looking for.
It is an excellent place to do water activities, definitely the best place to hang out with friends and have a good time.

We sat all day watching the wind surfing , drinking , getting massages , giving massages and giving hair braiding on the beach to the locals .
The relaxed atmosphere was amazing , and surprisingly bumped into a friend and sat together enjoying life .
The drinks are ice cold and umbrellas are provided.

The beaches here are serene and peaceful. The jet ski scam happens here so beware of this. There are also massage parlours on the beach. The roadside stalls should be tried.

One of the most beautiful beaches in Thailand! Food, shopping and entertainment at your footsteps. At night it turns in to a roadside market.

I went to the beach one time in day and acouple of times at night. It's much nicer at night when everyone goes and chills there and it's not too hot. Fireworks will go off and everyone is having a good time. In day can't relax without sellers trying to sell fruitshekes for 150 baht when they cost 50 at a stall nearby.

A beach lounge and umbrella will set you back a few bucks (100 bht).
There’s plenty of water activities like parasailing and jet skis for those so inclined. Otherwise a swim, the white sand and there is always plenty of cold drinks on offer.

Patong has clearly struggled through covid but ripping off tourists seems to be the new cash cow.
1000 baht fine for driving a scooter after the rental said UK motorbike licence was enough, can’t lye on the filthy beach without someone offering food, drinks or massages every 2 minutes. Food is expensive, even at the market stalls it is 550baht for a single half rack of ribs on their own, 80bht for mango sticky rice- these are western market prices, wouldn’t get much change from 1000bht if you went into a standard sit down restaurant.
Diving was great but I would hate to be here in peak season - one of the divers said there was 40% less boat traffic than normal and it was still busy.
I will not return to Thailand, it was dirty, the sex tourism was everywhere and the cheap prices it was, I assume, once famous for have gone.

What should we do with the bag or telephone with us on the beach? Is it safe to leave the bag alone?

Transportation:
Private taxi to Patong = 800 Baht
Smart Bus to Patong = 175 Baht (go to their website for bus schedule)
Mini-bus to Patong = 200 Bhat (as mentioned you need to wait until it is full)
Hotels:
I will recommend in Patong = The Royal Paradise Hotel & Spa.
My family and I are planning to join the speedboat tour... How long is the duration for the tour and will we get wet?

if you are planning phi phi, then would request you to ask what all will be covered, as its recommended you stay overnight to enjoy the whole or in a day you can have 2 option
1. go to phi phi stay have lunch and return
2. go to phi phi, then go ahead to see the other small attractions, like caves, monkey island, etc
so ask the operator for inclusions

Also if the sail gets wet do not parasail. Seen some people drop outa the sky a few times because of this. That's just I the last couple of weeks at Patong.

What would you say would be the daily spending allowance for food and also for first time to Patong and Thailand what tours would you recommend to get an overall look. We are there for 12 days . One more question also what currency do you suggest and also is card or cash better. Thanks Janelle. Whoops forgot one thing what is the cost of transfer from airport to Patong and do you have to prebook

Only use ATM's and you will get the best daily rates. They are plentyful so no need to carry very much money on you.
Surrin beach
Bang Tao beach
Nia Harn Beach
These beaches are cleaner
Visit the Temples Big Buddha is the most popular.
Spend the day at Nia Harn Beach then go to Phrom Thep Cape to watch the sunset before heading back for night life in Patong.
Thai bbq is a fun experience hassasipi rd has the best one.
If you like Dim Sum Mala in Kata/Karon is very good and well priced.
Day Trips like Phi phi island and James Bond Island (only use Diamond Sea Boat Tours!) Dont accept any other operator.
Naka night market is great for buying gifts i wouldn't shop anywhere else.
Dont rent Scooters or Motorcycles unless you want to die!
Transfer by Nana Taxi 700baht
Lots of decent meals at the night markets
7/11s have locked pricing less rip offs
Super cheap purple signs have the cheapest beer Nanai road
Daily spending wow seriouy depends $2 and up for draught...Bangla can drain you fast if you dont watch.
Never leave drinks unattended
Half full moons money grabs!but you might enjoy it.
