Rawai was a great place to wander around and try different restaurants, but not a great place if you're looking to lay around on the beach. Many restaurants will serve you beach side so you get a great view. There's a long pier at the end with a local fish market, very cool to explore.

This long beach is located on the southern end of Phuket and is easily reached by motorbike if you're not lodging nearby. I visited the beach 3 times via bicycle as I was exploring the area, giving the stretch of sand and street a close look. In its favor, it does offer a long stretch of light tan to off... More

Rawai Beach is the jumping off place for many boating adventures. All the boats at anchor make for a nice view. There are several restaurants both on the beach and across the street. The best meal we ate during our 2 weeks in Thailand was at the fish market near the long pier at the northeast end of the beach.... More

Rawai feels more like a working coastline rather than beautiful beachs that stretch up North of Rawai. It isn't open ocean. It's still a cool beach to visit.

All the boats line up a long here for you to hire to go to the nearby islands. We hired a long tail boat to the nearest island, Bon island for 1200bht for 6 of us, return. There are lots of bars & restaurants a long the front and the seafood market to walk round (and eat at). It's not... More

This beach is dirty and full of boats. Very shallow. It leads to the Fish market. We saw all, sorts of rubbish here including rats. Some sunbathers and swimmers, but l don't know what as other good beaches are not far away

This is not a beach but a working strip of land …the cafes are ok but busy / dirty & the only saving grace was the tiny seashell & fish market

We have lived in Rawai for several years, escaping the cold Canadian winters replacing these with heat and sunshine. Rawai offers a fishing beach with related activities. From early morning till late evening, locals are cooking, serving tourists. At one end of Rawai Beach, you can enjoy the Sea Gypsy Village where families live and operate their businesses. Choose your... More
