It's overrated. Lovely place but it's overrun with tourists. Wouldn't visit again at sunset. Only worth a trip if you have nothing else to do

Assuming the weather cooperates, this is a wonderful place to enjoy the sunset. You certainly won't be alone as it is popular with tourists and locals alike. The atmosphere is festive but becomes almost spiritual as the sun sinks. A few performers add to the ambience. Your camera probably won't do justice to the beauty, but take some photos anyway.... Great view for sunset at the southern most point of Phuket Island. If you want to be more adventurous and have better views at the extreme south point, go off track and hike through some vegetation and slopes. Advisable to wear covered shoes if you would like to get there.

you can get some amazing bargains up there and some quality clothes if that is what you are in to. You can hire a bike and it isn't far from Rawai beach and offers a great view and the opportunity to get some lovely pictures.

We arrived well before sunset, luckily, as the coaches full of Chinese tourists arrive at sunset and fill the place. We sat at the cafe to enjoy a drink after walking round the top and taking photos

Scenic location offering breathtaking views of the ocean. Sunsets are beautiful and many tourists enjoy these views. As well, after your cultural walk and scenic view, there are many markets with local Thai gift items, shirts, sarongs, hats... you name the item; you will find it. All with that famous Thai smile and hospitality. We recommend.

I traveled Phuket in July 2016, it was really hard to see the sunset in Patong or in any nearby beaches. I researched and visited Phropmthep Cape to see and photograph the sunset. It's very popular with tourists and super crowded.

Sadly, for me at least, this always seems to be the place I visit when about to leave this beautiful island. It has become more developed over the years but the magical sunsets remain and are as special as ever.

Wonderful location to visit with history along with great view. Recommend visit during the afternoon around 4 to 7 PM depend on the season of Thailand to watch a great view of sunset.

We drove to this place around sunset and although it was very busy, it was well worth a visit. The small market there is not really interesting as they only seem to sell some tourist stuff. The sunset was awesome and the general area is very nice. We also recommend Ya Nui beach which is very close.
