    Great ethical elephant tour.
I did quite a bit of research to find a good park where the elephants were treated well and randomly came across this one. When I searched elephant park on trip advisor it didn’t come up (so maybe the owners should review there search engine criteria). We had a great 90min tour. We had a great guide who spoke very good English and French. We learnt some good facts. Got to feed and pat elephants, walk with them on a jungle walk and feed them. My kids loved it and it was a great highlight to our trip. Keep up the good work..

    Best Authentic Elephant Experience
After a ton of research I booked this location due to it being a true ethical sanctuary and the ability to still interact with the elephants. It was definitely the right choice! Just finished a private half day excursion and it was excellent! Our guide Tom spoke great English and really helped us understand the elephants and their mahoots. Each one with their own personality. The reserve is set in a "jungle" part of Phuket away from tourists and traffic. Still allowed to touch the elephants but in very distinct spots and times to protect us and the elephants. A very authentic experience! They don't not have any hooks, chains, or ropes. The elephants are allowed to do and most importantly not do what they want. The mahoots will use verbal commands but that's it. A great example of how they care for the elephants would be our interaction with the elephant pool. We were not allowed in and the elephant is guided to the edge. It was a very hot day (which the guide said makes the cold fresh water not as interesting) and Lotus decided to not go in and walk to the mud bath instead. They did not force her in the water, instead we just followed her to the mud bath area. Again, you can tell they care about their treatment and making them feel comfortable, we get to observe and enjoy! The forest walk included was fun and unique as well. You could tell the elephant was so excited when we started heading to the trail! We will definitely be back!

Amazing Sanctuary! Please choose were to invest your money for fun.
Absolutely recommended! I was looking for a real Sanctuary where the animals are respected and not Forced to bath in the mud with a lot of humans. In Chang mai we didn’t find this possibility, the only 2 real sanctuary were fully booked and we didn’t want to support the realities that are forcing the animals to stay with people, take pictures, bath etc. This sanctuary is really ethical, elephants are not forced to to anything, you can observe them, feed them with bananas, discovering a lot of stuff about them. amazing experience!thanks Tom, our guide, is really passionate about his job and elephants.

    Incredible!
Amazing from start to finish! Every person from PENS was kind and helpful. The elephants were a once in a lifetime experience. Seeing them in a place where they are safe and cared for was wonderful. If only every place treated wild animals as kindly. There is no riding or subjecting them to repeated baths daily by tourists. It’s an incredible opportunity to see them and be near them in a place that is trying to give them a good life in as natural way as possible. Highly recommend!

    Best place to visit elephants
Great place where rescued elephants are taken care of. Great guide and explanation, makes conscience of mistreatment of elephants. You can make paper from their poop and eat a delicious meal in the site.

    Once in a Lifetime Experience
We knew we wanted to visit a sanctuary which was truly ethical and caring for their elephants and we found that at Phuket Elephant Nature Reserve. It was important to us that bathing with the elephants was not allowed and that they were not forced into activities. It was clear to us from arrival how passionate and caring the team are. We witnessed nothing but love, compassion and professionalism. We took part in the half day experience and Khun Aing was our guide. We loved cooking our own Traditional Thai lunch and it was delicious! We also got to make treats for the elephants which was a real highlight, especially when Thonglor decided he fancied some before they were ready! Who knew an elephant’s trunk could stretch so far! We interacted with Lotus, Bow and Thonglor who were the most majestic creatures and each had their own characters. The mutual love and respect between the elephants and their mahouts was obvious and beautiful to behold. You could tell their welfare was incredibly important and they were not made to participate in any activities. If they wanted to be close to us, it was their choosing which made it more magical. I think the presence of sugar cane and bananas definitely helped. We hope to be able to visit again soon and spend more time with the elephants. You will not regret this experience!

True elephant sanctuary - excellent experience
Truly special in how much they’re centred around the care of the elephants. They’ve done a wonderful job in creating an immersive experience without making it at the cost of the elephants well being. Excellent facilities, and caring team. Highly recommend the restaurant too. Had lunch then engaged on the 1.5 hour tour, perfect afternoon!

    Nice place for the elephants
A really nice place both for visiting and for the elephants. We were looking for a place where the elephants are treated well, for real. The elephants are nice and well-behaved and you can easily see that they are happy here. They are controlled only by voice commands and if they don’t wanna do something, they are not forced to. Our guide was great and very informative. The only thing we didn’t like was a little girl (staffs daughter?) playing and like throwing around a small black cat. She was also hitting it in the head, treating it like a toy. No one said anything and i deeply regret that I didn’t!

    Lovely small rescue centre
We wanted to visit an elephant sanctuary and were so pleased we choose here. We did the 90 minute tour which was perfect as it is only a small reserve. The elephants are so well cared for and roam freely. We also did a short walk into the forest to watch them feeding . My partner and I both enjoyed our visit and would definitely recommend.

This was a really amazing and humbling experience. To know that these elephants are being properly cared for is heart warming. I would recommend going there to get an up close and personal experience to connect with these lovely elephants with big personalities.

Everything about the day was fantastic!
Our guide; Ing's friendly personality and extensive knowledge of the elephants helped make for a great day! From learning how to cook Pad Thai, to showing us how to make eco-friendly paper from elephant poo, the day was full of fun.

We got to meet the elephants including the baby up close, feeding them a range of bananas, sugar cane and the main meal which we helped prepare at the camp. This was followed up by plenty of time walking amongst them in the forest. It was great to hear all of the personal stories on how the elephants behave and interact with each other and watch them bathe in the mud at the end. An excellent day spent were the staff truly care about their elephants!

Our best day in Thailand was meeting these beautiful animals and their amazing keepers. Our tour guide was Max (I believe) and on our jungle hike, we met Bow, the most calming, majestic animal you've ever met. We were then able to feed the animals and watch Bow take a mud bath. Could not recommend this 90 minute experience enough. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for this unforgettable experience x

Amazing experience. Quite expensive but so amazing to see the elephants at a very ethical sanctuary. Got a chance to see them up close and watch their natural behaviour.

Loved this experience. I felt guilty trying to be ethical and not taking them to bathe / wash elephants but I’m so glad we did this and we understand why it’s not right to bathe with these beautiful creatures. The kids (12,11) enjoyed the cooking experience and were more open to try the food and after a few hours here they understood my decision. These people just want to give elephants a happy home and we were happy to support them.

We had a wonderful time visiting this genuinely ethical sanctuary. I wanted my 4 year old daughter to experience these majestic animals but in a respectful way. The sanctuary enabled her to get up close without putting tourism ahead of the rights of these wonderful animals. The information was amazing and our host kept us so entertained during our 90 minute session. 100% recommend!

Must visit while in Phuket. This sanctuary is the real deal, they care for the elephants. There are no chains here, no touching or riding. You can observe these majestic creatures in their natural habitat and feed them. You can clearly see the elephants are happy to be there and are well taken care of. It was wonderful.
