Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beautiful, peaceful place 400m above the sea, with a beautiful view. Not an easy place to reach, but it's worth it - it's overlooking Alanya and it's not crowded, we were the only visitors there. Wooden paths and trees makes it feel like a stroll in a park. Entrance is free.

This ruined city is located situated on a hill overlooking the sea not far from Alanya. It can be reached by a sealed road from the village of Seki just off the D400. It's a fairly large site with ruins scattered across a tree and bush covered hillside. The best ruins are concentrated along what was once the main street. You’ll have to climb a series of steep wooden steps from the parking lot to reach the site. What a great place to wander. It feels like nothing has changed since the earthquake that devastated the city in the 7th century. Fallen columns litter the main street. The best ruin is the Great Bath. Great photos are available when walking on the path above the main street shooting down (ruins of the basilica are up here). There’s a good WC at the parking lot and a map information board to guide you (you’ll find more map information boards around the site). The best part of visiting is that we had the whole place to ourselves. Entrance is free. This is a site you don’t want to miss.

With a bus from Alanuym to Demirtas it did not take long and the buses timetable seemed to be quite frequent maybe every 20-30 min. The trip was about 30 min to the bus stop on the main road down by the seaside. The walk to Syedra was hard 4,4 km uphill 400 m from the sea level. One cafe on the pre mid- journey ”doktorun bache” which served turkish ”tortilla” gözleme - cheap and tasty- and beer and soft drinks of course. The ruin area was quite big with a lot of stairs. Pretty impressive. And no fee for entrance.

The steep street up to the site is newly paved and easily driveable. There is even a toilet on the parking lot and trash-bins all over the place, even though no-one is there to collect an entrance fee. The explanations about the different buildings are unfortunately sparse but the trip through the ancient town is well-marked. A nice detour from the highway! Also nice to see where the exhibits in the Alanya Archaeological Museum come from.

Steep hill which is mostly well surfaced from the main road up to the top of the hill. The city is in two parts, with information boards in the car park. Well orgainised wooden pathways help you climb and explore both parts of this ancient city which is amazing and surprising. Well worth a visit.

Half an hour from Alanya city center by car. The city ruins are located on a hill. Actually the ruins are not in good shape. There is a large colonnaded street and a monumental tomb to see. Since the city is on a hill, you have to climb stairs and wear comfortable shoes. Entrance is free. During the summer, do not prefer to visit between 11 and 4. The best thing about the city is its panoromic coast view. Syedra should not be in must do list but if you have time and interested in historical places, Syedra is a nice option. Hey, do not forget to bring your cold water with you.
