About Kas Gulet
Greek Island Tour (Kastellorizo/Meis) This day cruise from Kas harbour visits the Greek island of Kastellorizo (called Meis in Turkish). Kastellorizo is the most easterly island of Greece, 125km from the next island, Rhodes, but just 6km from Kas. The islanders have a strong connection to Kas, and come each Friday to buy fresh fruit and vegetables in local weekly market.

With the Greek borders closed this year, Captain Osman Muslu has put his thinking cap on and has put together a brilliant day out touring the Turkish coastline around Aperlei. After being collected from Kalkan, we enjoyed a superb breakfast on the very comfortable boat and made for Aperlai. Osman explained some of the history and we had loads of time to swim, snorkel the ruins (something you cannot do at Kekova) and go ashore - he provides fins and reef shoes to help you. We sailed on to another beautiful bay for swimming and snorkeling while Osman and Emine created a beautiful barbecue lunch. We knew we wouldn't need dinner that night! We visited another couple of swimming spots, we even saw a Mediterranean Seal, as well as a turtle. Captain Osman is full of ideas as to what tours he wants to run and this was informative as well as enjoyable. I've already said that if there are any spaces this week I'd like to go again, and he will definitely be the first person I contact when 2021 trip to Turkey is booked!

We are a group of 11 friends & family & were staying at a Villa in Kalkan. We were picked up by minibus at 9.30 & taken to Kas where we boarded the Celin 111. Captain Osman took us to the Blue cave which we then swam into & spent a lovely time enjoying the splendour of the cave. We then moored in a local bay for an amazing lunch including sea bass cooked on a bbq. The Greek beer & wine was very enjoyable. We were then dropped off in the town & spent the rest of the afternoon sightseeing. Captain Osman had booked us a local restaurant which again was thoroughly enjoyable. On the trip back to Kas he turned all the lights off in the boat so that we could see millions of stars & to our luck 2 shooting stars. Wow We will definitely go back again next year as although the Kalkan gullets are nice they cannot compare with Meis & it’s beautiful scenery.

I've been travelling to Kas and the turquoise coast for 30 years and in that time I've done many trips on land and by sea but this trip on Selin 3, with Captain Osman and his lovely wife Eminei is, without doubt, SIMPLY THE BEST! I've been on all the usual islands and bays trips out of Kas and Kalkan, as well as Kaputas, Kekova, and plenty of others. I've even done my return transfer by boat from Kas to Fethiye - with an overnight stay in Olu Deniz - and also been on a week long Blue Cruise - so I think I can be objective. All were very good but nothing as good as this full day in and around Meis I have to admit that I've sailed with Osman on a lot of occasions, from Kas down to Ciralli and from Myra up to Kas, among others, and he's the best captain I've been with. As far as I'm aware, he's the only boat operating this particular tour which makes it truly unique. So what do you get for your money - sailing across Kas bay to Meis; swimming in the breathtaking Blue Cave; getting up close and personal with turtles then on to more bays and more swimming. If that's not enough you get the best on board lunch you'll find in Turkey; a couple of hours to explore and experience Greek culture and a moonlit cruise back across the bay to Kas - absolutely magical! Osman speaks excellent English and - as well as his expert knowledge of the sea and local history - he and his family have fished these waters for generations - he'll tell you about his bee keeping, goat herding and the rest. A day is hardly long enough but you'll enjoy every minute of the 12 hour trip and all for less than £60!! You'd be crazy to miss it. Tom Wilson

We made the day before a tour to Kekova, 110 Lira per person (approx 20Euro). It was great. Following day we booked for 60Euro per person !! the trip to Meis. We expected a better service/tour/experience etc. as the day before. How disappointing, it was the opposite. Bad service, no information what we will do (even after asking we got unclear and unfrienldy answers), the stops with the Gulet were extremely dissappointing (the first stop in the morning at the cave was great, the rest of the day was not worth to be there), we got a normal lunch nothing else during the rest of the day, for drinks just water. A few people started to complain (friendly and understandable) and the Crew did not react or tried to understand they just insulted their guests and behaved rude and unfriendly !!! At the end, the Crew charged more then agreed from a few other passagers, so as well there discissions and unfriendly behaviour. Conclusion: Do not choose Selin3 for a tour, there are many better and much cheaper ones.

We like to visit Meis whenever holidaying in Kalkan so I was keen to try this different way of visiting. After some e-mail correspondence I managed to book 2 trips, the first travelling solo and the second with my partner. Both visits were fabulous, but the second was just sensational. Captain Osman and his wife are fabulous hosts and the day was very relaxing. Osman is good at tailoring the day so that you get the best possible experience. Our Blue Cave swim on the second tour was sensational (pretty good the first time around too). The lunch is great, particularly when you can have a swim with turtles while it's cooking. We were completely 'chilled out' by the time we reached Meis harbour, though we were probably too full to enjoy their tavernas properly (though we tried!). I will definitely be doing this again next year - but you do need to book early as it is so justifiably popular.
