One of the famous underground cities of Cappadocia, Kaymakli contains over 100 tunnels with low, narrow and sloping passages. Although the structure goes deeper than 100 feet below ground, only the first four floors are open for public viewing.

It is easy to access to kaymakli from goreme where we were based. 5 floors down, very complicated system. Includes churches, winery, living rooms, kitchen.

can be busy at tourist bus tours hours, best is early morning, lunch time or before it gets closed. be careful of winter/summer museum hours. last entrance in the winter is 16.15 ; summer 18.15
