Turasan's wine is great and for the price it's value is well worth it. The have a wine house were you can sample three wines at a time for up to 100TL.
The customer service from our first interaction was great. Assisted, explained and by far made our experience pleasant. Even indicated shipping can be included if a certain amount of bottles were purchased.
With that being said, when we finished our tasting and wanted to purchase wine to take home (Istanbul) with us, we were greeted by a different representative. We clearly assured ourselves that shipping to Istanbul and adding an extra bottle that was purchased outside of their winery was accepted, THREE times, since their shipping was by the half dozen. It is important to understand that the second representative spoke and understood English very well (more to this to follow) as he took our order of 17 bottles of wine that we wanted to purchase.
To the point of a possible language barrier. There wasn't. When we were waiting to put our wine order, another customers had requested a possible discount on a purchase and the representative made a particular comment (in English) to them stating "are you Chinese?". Moving onto our order of 17 bottles, we asked if he would be so kind to add a small individual bottle of wine to taste it as we didn't want to purchase another tasting just to try one type of wine. He aggressively said no. This in turn also came as he clearly said yes to shipping that other bottle we had asked three times to ship with our order and then said no (understandably because it wasn't a bottle from their winery) but we made sure it was okay to send, multiple times.
Now because we had another spot for a bottle, he would not ship our wine as it was not by the half-dozen. We asked since he made the mistake if he can add another bottle but with a discount, his response was, "are you Chinese?". To that point, I am part Chinese and made it known to him. He had no remorse and didn't care for his comments.
Wine is good, tour companies love to take people there but go buy it at a local store in town. Give the local shops the extra 20 to 30TL it may cost and avoid the winery overall.

Best Cappadocian red wine. We tried Seneler Öküzgözü & Boğazkere first at a restaurant so we went to the winery and got 2 bottles for 90 TL each. Normally red wine turns my cheeks red and sometimes I have a slight headache, this is the only red wine that doesn't do so. Perfect flavours and great quality. Highly recommended!

We were doing a tour trip with a tour operator for one day in Cappadocia.
At the end of the day, they offered to who wanted to do it, a wine tasting experience.
We accepted, since we had never done it before.
This experience was inside a stone building, that is the same where the shop is located.
They asked us which type of tasting experience we wanted to do.
We could try 6 glasses of different bottles.
It was up to us choosing if we wanted to try only red, only white, only rose or a mix of them.
We chose 3 white wines and 3 red wines.
Some names that we remember are: Merlot, Sauvignon, Muscat, Öküzgözü.
The sommelier speaks Turkish and English.
She explained to us that all these bottles had grapes cultivated in Turkey, how every type was cultivated, which climate every grape preferred and last but not least, she recommended us the order to try them for us to appreciate them most.
She was very knowledgeable.
It was possible tasting near wines, some breadsticks, to remove the flavour of the previous wine.
We really liked the taste of all of them and we felt the difference between every wine very clearly.
We are not experts to judge them, but we really enjoyed the experience.
The location was romantic and striking.
We recommend to do it at least one time in the life.

The staff here were very friendly. We had so much fun just chatting and drinking wine. They will take you on a quick tour, which is bit underwhelming. However, our guide certainly made up for that as did the bulk/shipping prices. We ordered several bottles and had them shipped to our final hotel on our vacation. Prices were reasonable and our wine was waiting for us on arrival, safe and sound.

Great place to visit if you love wine. You can taste many different wine here. Also if you have time you can join mini tour in this winery. I really enjoyed this place and bought a couple of wines from here. If you like hot wine, they have great hot wine mix :)

We had an awful lot of trouble finding Turasan winery. The map we got from the floor outside the Urgup Tourist Information Centre (because they were closed!) had such bad directions. There is also no sign from the main road into Urgup showing where to turn off to the winery. After having to go back to our hotel to ask for directions again, we finally found Turasan and what a disappointment.
There was no discussion of the wines or even just polite small talk! The man working in the tasting room almost completely ignored us. After coming all the way from South Africa and planning our trip around tasting some of Turkey's best wines and renting a car to do so, this was just the biggest disappointment of Cappadocia.
You should much rather spend your time and money at Kocabag. It is much smaller, but also much more intimate. The wine maker also works behind the counter in their tasting room and the wine is fabulous!
Don't support Turasan's bad service.

Despite the negative reviews they had we decided to give it a try. It's an experience I'll never forget. They charge 18 lira or 6 euro for the wine tasting, which isn't really a problem. As I nodded to agree to the price, the bartender (why I call him this will make sense) places 4 shot glasses on stems (tiny mini-wine glasses) on the counter. He snatches the wine from the cav and to my shock it has a spout on it, the very same one used in tequila or vodka. He pours it by completely inverting the wine bottle and without pause moves between the mini-wine glasses, spilling a little as he does the transfer. Exactly like you would do in a bar if you were serving shots. He places the bottle down, says the name of the grape and the year, nothing else. I'm looking at my wife and we're both so dumbfounded we couldn't help but laugh. Never ever in all my years of drinking wine has wine been served like that, including some dive bars I was silly enough to order wine. I was looking around cause I really thought someone was pulling a prank. We left the place shaking our heads and laughing, you can be sure it's an experience we'll never forget.

This is a great winery with a nice local character embedded in the caves. The tour of the production facilities was very very impressive, the tour guide was very knowledgable, and the different selections of wine were delightful. Seneler series are special but even the table wine Cappadocia tastes nice and smooth. One problem with the place is that it was hard to get the attention of the staff (in the wine tasting area) at first which is probably because they are overwhelmed with tourists. Also they do not seem all so knowledgable about wines in general.

On web we found this place to taste and to buy many kinds of wine. No fruit wine only red, white, rose (not so many) and grape fruit juice. But as they were closing around 8pm, they didnt help us at all. Souvenirs and magnets also being sold but they were so rude that we left place. We might pay in cash but they didnt let us to buy any even we were inside the shop. I think they earn a lot so you should prefer locals. We grabbed 2 local wine same price of Turasans 1 bottle.well also Turasan charge tasting 3 different wine same price as a bottle of wine. 18 turkish lira:30 euro. Unfortunately we were so dissapointed. I cant tell about taste of their products but you should keep in mind these.

We were charged to taste the lowest end wines they have, no discussion of the wines and we were not allowed to taste anything else. We explained that we would like to buy two (nice) bottles of wine for dinner but still were not allowed to taste anything else. We walked out after five minutes. Awful.
