This is Diyarbakir's largest mosque and, after the Grand Mosque, probably the prettiest. The dome is impressive and beautiful blue Iznik tiles girdle the interior. The outside entrance way is impressive too, with an unusual green-tiled ceiling.

After the Ulu Camii (Great Mosque), this is probably the largest and most impressive mosque in Diyarbakir. Incredibly, but perhaps fittingly, it was built by the great Ottoman imperial architect Mimar Sinan for a commission by the Ottoman governor of Diyarbakir, Behram Paşa, in 1564-1579....More
