Karapınar-Ereğli kara yolu üzerinde 8.km.'de sol tarafınızda kalan bu volkanik göl gün geçtikçe daha çok ziyaretçi kabul ediyor.Ana yoldan içeri döndüğünüzde yukarıdan aşağı kıvrılan yol ile iniyorsunuz ve çok güzel bir manzara ile karşılaşıyorsunuz.Krater gölünün üç tarafı kayaçlarla kaplı iken bir tarafı düzlük bir alandan oluşuyor ve bu kesimden suya girmek mümkün fakat suya girmek de biraz tehlikeli.Gölün çok derin olduğu ve suyunun biraz acı olduğu söylenir.Bu mekan özellikle Karapınarlı vatandaşların serinlemek ve eğlenmek için ailece geldikleri bir mesire yeri olmuş.Gölün kıyı kesimindeki toprak kül rengi.Zamanla göl kenarı işletme bakımından turistik amaçlı farklı faaliyetlere ve organizasyonlara ev sahipliği yapabilir.Giriş ücretsiz.Fotoğraf çekmek ve görüntü almak için çok ideal bir yer.

Nişanlımla fotoğraf çekmek için gitmiştik. Çok da öyle aman aman bir yer değil. Bakımsız ve çok tenha bir yer. Piknik alanları yapılıp çok daha güzel hale getirilebilir.
