Wise man
Sep 2021 • Friends
When somewhere some countries assemble smart city, we usually understand that city will have smart gadgets around, and many other smart infrastructures oriented to to preserve or maintain nature. But after visiting this beautiful place, my concept of a smart city changed. as in this place lived and worked a wise man, whose advice will do everything for the sake of maintaining the nature of both man and the world

Home of the Tomb of Rumi and the Mevlana order
Sep 2021
Visited specifically for the Sema (whirling Dervishes) where which are performed free of charge. The Mevlana order originates in Konya. You can also visit the tomb of Rumi. A very small open air museum.

A spiritual location
Aug 2021
A must stop on your trip to Turkey if you want to visit a spiritual place. Loved the various artifacts displayed therein and the overview of the Sufi Dervish's lives.

Inspiring
Aug 2021
Rumi shares his love and knowledge through his legacy of books and ceremony's and this museum shares the love and feel of his mastery so well. Even better is the International Mevlana foundations adjacent to it that offers training and information in his Sufi ways with direct descendants in charge

An unexpected delight!

What a beautiful museum - so much to learn about the Sufi's - I would suggest that if you are not a native speaker that you get an audio guide - we could not find one but think it would have helped.

Walking in the mystical atmosphere of Rumi's tomb is a unique experience that you will not see anywhere in the world.
This person, who is the greatest Persian poet, was a great mystic and dervishes who taught many students.
It is full of positive energy, enjoy

An amazingly beautiful and peaceful experience

What a wonderful and relaxing place! The mausoleum of the Great Poet and Spiritualist Rumi. Dont worry about not knowing much about Rumi..the museum has guided audio headsets for only 20 tl!
The grounds surrounding the mausoleum in warmer weather are filled with small trees and rose gardens. There is also a coffee and gift shop with benches to relax with a lover or family. The inside of the museum is simply but finely decorated and the area surrounding the tomb is spectacular! Befitting of a master. A must see.
I enjoyed many cups of Turkish coffee while sitting in the garden.
Outside the museum to the rigjt, near the cemetary entrance, you can find the Mavlana Taxi stand. I hired their car once and afterwards hired them for every Konya site...including the airport! 😉👍 Prices were immediately fair and by meter and the owner Abdullah, speaks perfect english, is very knowledgable about every aspect of the city: sites, goods, food, culture, etc. He is also a kind hearted jolly family man and watches over his passengers with fatherly care (he never once tried to sell me anything). I wasnt sure of him at first but time after time, he proved to be honest and kind. We are now friends.
Please seek him out, he will lift your spirits and enlighten you to local culture and wonders that may otherwise go unnoticed. Thanks Abdullah.
Mavlana Taxi, zero five four one two four two two six seven four

An unfinished visit
Dec 2020
Centuries of Moslem and Turkish civilization... The tomb of Mevlana Jalel Eddine Erroumi is a must to visit and contemplate...Relics dating back to 8 centuries or more are at a foot distance from visitors... The site is well maintained and taken care of...
In a word, this place is unique...It is a pity that Covid19 prevented us from attending the whirling dervishes show.
