Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Alaeddin Hill is a large park in the center of Konya, containing the historic Alaeddin mosque, remains of a citadel and other historic buildings. The park is surrounded by a wall, and was the former residence of the Turkish Sultans of Rum (11th to 13th centuries; conquered most of Asia Minor from the Byzantines and preceded the Ottoman Empire). The eastern side of the park contains a large marble fountain cascading down the hillside. Like most urban parks, it has fountains, benches, planted trees and flower beds, and is a peaceful place to relax. It is surrounded by the circular Alaeddin Blvd (lined with shops, cafes, restaurants, banks and ATMs), and serviced by Tramway Zafer Durağı. Unfortunately, when I was there, parts of the park was closed while restoration was being done on some of the historic buildings. The park is open at all times, with no entry fee.

I was at the Alaaddin hill only 2 months ago and it was the most gorgeous place in Konya I can say. Was filled with many kinds of Tulips and flowers. You feel like you are in piece of heaven.
Seeing families having their time with their kids, laughter and enjoyment. I would recommend to go there end of April, early May to enjoy all kinds of flowers with many colors. Also there is a Whirling Dervish show at a cultural centre which is free of charge and you have a chance to see at least 30 dervishes whirling at the same time harmoniously. It starts at 8 pm every evening and make sure you are going during the weekdays as weekends are filled with many people and hard to find a spot.

The Alaeddin Mosque on top of the hill was built by the Seljuks and reflects the architecture of the period. The views of the city from the hilltop are not that impressive.

I visited the mosque and then sat in the beautiful tea house spread out on Aleaddin Hill where I enjoyed seeing families with their children taking in a summer's night. The beauty of the grounds with fruit trees, fountains, kilim covered Turkish style arm chairs and sofas were all part of a magnificent design that made the night magical for me. Freshly squeezed orange juice, Turkish tea, Nargilah, kind people talking and laughing made me realize the beauty of life.

After Mevlana and Sems-i Tabriz, don't miss the Aladdin Hill. You can walk from Mevlana towards Sems-i Tabriz and continue to the Alaedin Hill. It is like a garden with some Turkish café and restaurants. You can visit the tombs and manuments in this historical area, take great shots and enjoy Turkish coffee and tea. The entrance is free. You can access the hill via bus, tram. Less than 15 minutes walk from Mevlana.

The Alaeddin Mosque is a wonderful example of Islamicarchitecture and well worth visiting. I was made to feel verywelcome, especially as a non-believer I was able to walk across the prayer carpet to see the wonderful carved ebony mimber and superb tiling. The park itself is shady with beautifully planted flower beds. There are lots of places for refreshment too.

A picturesque hill with a beautiful mosque toppling it (if female, remember to dress appropriately and take a shawl to cover your head). This venue is free.
Alaeddin hill, in fact the area, may have been the fundamental basis to the story about Aladdin, his lamp and the life of a boy in Mesopotamia. The whole area of Konya has a magical, mystical feel, so it isn't surprising to find a place that has a name-sake.
Here you will find a lovely water feature, cafe and time to relax. It can be accessed via tram or dolmus at a very reasonable price - or you could just stroll there with your kebab and arran (a yoghurt drink), however you get there it really is a good place to visit. Opposite, you will find plenty of shops and places to eat at reasonable prices.

a kind of timulus, this hill unfortunately was under construction. But you should visit there anyway to see the mosque on top of it. Also you'll have chance to see Konya's landscape from this place.
