We have visited twice, both times it has proven interesting to climb through the 'ruins' of this abandoned city. You will have to do some research ahead of time and understand that after paying the small admission fee you are pretty much on your own to work your way around to some ot the memorable locations. There is little signage... More

A MUST to see and experience . So much to see and loads of history. The restaurants are also very good and those tucked away off the beaten track are fantastic. You will have to put on your walking shoes and it is not conducive for the elderly disabled. You can spend many happy hours exploring but don't forget to take... More

These ruins tell a story about Greaking inhabitants that were forced to leave their homes from about 1922 onwards and were banned from returning. This place is well worth a visit for people who like hiking and who enjoy ancient scenery.

Peaceful place, an abandoned town steeped with history. There is something to see no matter which way you look. The whole town is museum. there is a new tourist area at the end but if you turn left just before you get there, there is a little square with a wonderful little café and market stall. Well worth a visit... More

If you want to get away from the flocks of tourists and see what real life in the local area is like visit Kayakoy, we fell in love with this place and the local area. We spent approx 3 hours walking around the ruins which is full of history! The ladies that work in the market stalls are lovely ad... More

There is nothing much to see other than broken down houses and other structures. You have to leave a minimum of one hour to climb the hill manipulating the rocks. If you need to meditate over the unsettling experience you need the whole day. My rating is for the impact it had on my mind. Watching the shattered dreams of... More

Very interesting visiting Kayakoy, seeing all the empty houses and churches was amazing, plenty to see, but make sure you take plenty of water with you.

We stopped here for a visit. Free parking. Free entry. Plenty to see. Easy to walk around. Restaurants and a few understated shops around. Well worth a trip.
