Interactive cozy museum. One and a half dozen small rooms with vases, photographs, interactive screens and air conditioners))). There is no audio guide, so visiting the museum will take no more than 30 minutes. There are practically no visitors. The ticket cost 5 dirhams, the Russian UnionPay card did not work. It’s worth going for a change in windy weather, and at the same time you’ll have a strong feeling that you’ve been to most museums in the UAE))

Not far from the museum we stayed at a hotel, took a walk in the evening and were pleasantly surprised: an interactive story about life, the formation of the region and national characteristics. You go to parts of the building across the street. Entrance costs 5 Dirhams (adults and children over 12 years old), walked around the museum in ~40 minutes.
I recommend

A contemporary approach to showcasing history. The Fort compiles visual documents and artifacts covering most things about Ajman. The history, the origin of Arab horses, the markets, the traditional remedies, the Union Defence Force and so much more! So engaging that a two hours visit felt like 20’

The museum is beyond praise.
For 2 adults we paid only 50 rubles.
The museum grounds are quite large. It was gratifying that most of the exhibitions are interactive. Touch screens are installed, you can even touch some things.
The history of the museum tells of times from antiquity to the present day.
Spare no time and visit this museum.
His impressions were much brighter than those of the Presidential Palace, Qasr Al Watan.

An interesting museum, located in the former residence of the Emirs of this small emirate. Gives a good view of life in the UAE from older times, before all the large buildings and glitz. And I recommend visitors of the UAE to visit the smaller emirates, and not just Dubai / Abu Dhabi.

A fantastic step back in time to experience life in Ajman for years gone by. Extremely educational, very interesting and highly recommended. Lots of the displays are well thought out and some are also immersive.

Lots of air conditioned spaces here. Some steps so wouldn’t be entirely suitable for those with limited mobility.

An excellent experience and unbelievable value for money.

Amazing museum! Classics plus new technologies about Arab life over several centuries! Perhaps the best museum in the Emirates! Can only be compared with a similar one in Fujairah! Ajman is smaller and more atmospheric! I recommend visiting! Take a couple of hours during the day and enjoy the cultural program!

Wonderful holiday. Very helpful staff. I especially wanted to mention Regina, the manager from the reception. Everything is done very quickly. Thanks to her for arranging late check-out. It is very valuable and nice to get a few more hours of rest. Clean and comfortable rooms. Food service at the highest level. The food is very tasty, lots of seafood. Autumn I want to return to this hotel and enjoy relaxation and communication with the wonderful staff🌺🌺🌺😊😊😊🤩

Ajman Fort, built of stone, coral and mudbrick in the center of Ajman city, is the oldest building in the emirate. The date of foundation of the fort is not documented (it is believed to be the end of the XVIII century), but in 1822 the ubiquitous British documented that Ajman had one of the best harbors in this part of the Persian Gulf and was a small town with the only one fortified building - the ruler's house, that is this very fort. Without going into the history of Ajman, it should be noted that since the beginning of the 19th century, the rulers of Ajman, the Al-Bukhari family from the Al-Naim tribe, have been housed in the fortress.
In 1967, Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, one of the founding fathers of the United Arab Emirates, who ruled Ajman since 1928, moved his residence to another building, and the fort was transferred to the emirate's police department, which housed it until 1978.
In the 80s of the last century, the restoration of the fort began, after that the Ajman Museum, the main tourist and historical attraction of the emirate, was located in the fortress.
The museum is excellent: interesting and varied expositions, a successful combination of "live" exhibits with interactive ones, including ethnographic ones, which cover the entire period of the emirate's history.
There is a very curious collection of documents, including the oldest in Ajman Holy Book of the Koran, as well as a copy of the "Perpetual Peace Treaty" dated May 4, 1853, concluded by Ajman with Britain, according to which the emirate, among other coastal emirates, actually came under the protectorate of the British crown. But this is another story...
It is also necessary to mention that there is a barjeel (برجيل) or wind tower in the fort of Ajman, which is considered the oldest in the United Arab Emirates.
The cost of the entrance ticket - 5 AED.
