This is a great place to get away from the malls and beaches, if you want a change. Quiet and interesting, they often have art exhibits on too which adds to the ambience.

My wife and I visited the Ras Al-Khaimah Fort/Museum during a drive up the west coast of the UAE. It was relatively easy to find, being near the end of the peninsula on which the old part of the city stands. There was ample parking in front of the fort. When we visited, there were only two other visitors and... More

Exhibitions put in place in c 1987. Lovely building and courtyard, similar to many family homes in the old days where chilldren were conceived, born and educated.

Who wants to know how the Emirate was in the past centuries, as well as up to the mid 20th century, has to visit this museum. A must for the tourist willing to really know Ras Al Khaimah

If you are visiting Ras Al Khaimah and wonder what is there to see.. this is definitely one of the top 5 things. The museum is well appointed, informative and reveals picturesque views from the rooftop (the rooftop is definitely a must see. The entrance to it is not the easiest to find but it is worth it).

Museums are always a wealth of information regarding the history of the area and this was no exception. Learned much about the northernest Emirate.

It is an interesting place to visit as it shows about the area. Also it was one of the old residences of the Late HH Sheikh Saqr Alqasimi the late Ruler of Ras al khaimah. A lot work should be done and a lot more attention has to be given to improve the quality and information of the displays and... More

We like the museum, full of historic information on the very old civilization. We learn the route they travel in the old days. How they travel and places they stop over. The museum is not big but it is enough for my kids to learn about the history of the city.
