A great way to better understand Islam

We spent 2 hours here and could have easily spent more time exploring the exhibits and learning more about the culture and religion of the region.

Just passedby in this place thought it was closed during weekneds. But it offers the tourist a good place to visit. It helps me understand the old islamic civilization, how it affects the present. Thumbs up to engineering department and interior design because it was so cool. I am really amazed how they did it especially the illustration how does... More

My wife and I visited the Islamic Museum during a visit to the Sharjah whilst on holiday in the UAE. The Museum is located on the Corniche (that would be the promenade in the UK) near the Radisson Hotel. Entry fee is only AED 10 pp (around £2.20) and is worth every penny. The Museum consists of six long galleries... More

We had only one hour until close. And it was just enough time. Don't plan half of the day for it unless you're very interested in all details. There are interactive expositions, which might be interesting for kids.

Very well curated museum - converted from an old souk or market into a cultural space - must see in Sharjah.

I think if you are Muslim, you should visit, if you want to learn about ancient Islamic history, also visit this museum. Otherwise, I think there are more interesting places to see. We visited an old Fort, in the area on Corniche, that I found more to my liking.

This museum presents the history of Islamic civilization in an orderly manner, all explained and illustrated in two main floors. The first floor is dedicated to two main galleries: one to science and medicine and the other to the Islamic faith. The second floor consists of four separate galleries, each one depicting a different period in chronological order, tracing the... More

This is another nice museum in Sharjah and it's very educational. There are many things you can learn from visiting and different from all the typical tall buildings you usually see. A must see for a history lover!
