Most "main streets" in towns are commercial, crowded and not picturesque at all. This street, as well as most of the nearby streets in and leading to the Old Town part of Colonia, are lined with beautiful, tall trees. The overall effect is quite scenic.

In the old quarter this avenue is a wide tree lined & cobblestoned boulevard transforming into a busy town centre street with strip shopping, restaurant & businesses

This is the street to change money and it is full of gift shops and restaurants. Prices are a lot more convenient than in the historic downtown.
