Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This waterfront promenade is a must when exploring Colonia’s old town, especially when the sun sets. When I was there, I could indulge in the fact that my fellow tourist brethren were few and far between—like, only two other people around. If you can go when it’s less crowded, I highly suggest it. Colonia is blessed to contain these river vistas!

I had been around 40 countries and some of places you can not forget till end of your life. Colonia is like this. I was really feel that I am in a fairy tale.
You have to see and feel this city.
I highly recommend this place. Just discover it.

Walking near the water was nice, especially the area that looks east. The historic barrio is part of the area. Here and there you will catch glimpses of the lighthouse and the church, the tallest structures in the little town. There are several bars and restaurants for a break. The sunset was very good.

Be like a local and grab a drink or 3 from the market and check out the sunset from a nice perch amongst the rocks. Great place to view the classic URG sunset.

Pick up a beer and enjoy sunset at the rambla. A lot of people gather here at the evening. Must do in Colonia

What a wonderful walk and view of the River Plate!

A must for an afternoon mate and or drink at a local restaurant or just a leisurely walk and sit. The sunset is just fabulous as are the numerous cafes and restaurants.....

A quick 1 hour ferry ride from Buenos Aires brings you to this quaint little town in Uruguay. The main part of town has a lighthouse towering over cobblestone streets with cute little restaurants, small shops and a beautiful beach. We spent the day wandering around the streets, strolling along the boardwalk, eating and drinking in the cafes. A nice relaxing day away from the crowds of BA.

This is the riverfront walk from ferry terminal to old town. Don't take a taxi. Not that far and you will miss the walk.

This "rambla" is small compared to the one in Montevideo, but the view is beautiful and you can missed visiting this place if go to Colonia.

I like to stay by the rambla de Colonia because of its beautiful view. But also because we can see Buenos Aires when the day is clean. It is a nice place to go jogging or to sit and enjoy the view. I’ve tried other places, but I like to stay at the Costa Colonia Hotel. Nice spot.
