Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

When in Samarkand I walked several along this pedestrianised street in both directions, since it connects all the main attractions of the city. It is a pleasant wide street with sidewalk on both sides, then a row of trees, with a paved central part, on which one might see bicycles. Also the boutique hotel, where I was staying, was here, as well as the two restaurants, where I used to go for dinner.
In 2016 the Tashkent street, also known for its many shops, has been renamed 'Islam Karimov Street', after Uzbekistan's first president. It goes from Registan Ko'chasi all the way to the highway 'Samarkand Halqa Ya'li'. The main tourist part though is between Registan and the Bibi Khanum Mosque.

This is a very clean street for tourists, from the Registan to the supermarket. There are many shops, some interesting, and then a cluster of tea, snacks, and lunch places, outdoors in the sunshine. I also liked the shop, Fatima.

The main pedestrian street linking the famous Registan Square to the big market is called Tashkent Street with many shops for the tourist traveller. My favourite shop here is called Fatima, run by a mother and 4 daughters. They design and make all women's clothing from vintage fabrics and ikat, along with many bags and home décor such as cushion covers and suzanis. They have many old Russian silk ikat fabrics, and you can you choose a fabric and get made up into a piece of clothing. Two of the daughters speak good English to communicate your design wishes. I got 2 items of clothing made up and I was very happy with the results.
Look for their store which is near the ice cream vendor - good to stop here when you need a break from shopping. A nice place to stop for lunch is Anargis Art Café - you can't miss it as its quite near the entrance to the main bazaar. Lovely to sit outside on the terrace and watch the world go by.

This street stretches for 3 km, from Registan Street to Afrosiab. In 2017, Tashkent street was named after Islam Karimov, the first president of Uzbekistan. There are many attractions on the street - from the Ulugbek Observatory to the Bibi-Khanum Mosque... In the center, Islam Karimov Street (ex-Tashkent) is pedestrian... We walked along it from the Ulugbek Observatory to the Registan: quite nice...
