This was a very good stop on our tour of Samarkand. More interesting to us than the tomb, was seeing the religious people who visited the tomb, and observing how important it was to them.

This is a very important place for pilgrims but it isn't much to see. The history of the place is very good so it is worth a visit.

Nice and calm place, with healthy water well outside (as claimed by our tour guide). Not much to do or see though. So do it if you have the time.

This tomb is of very important historical importance for the three biggest monotheistic religion and I am sure it must be important for believers from these three religions but as a monument it is very basic, very nice location and a 15 meters tomb

Very beautiful sacred site, not just tourists, but many pilgrims. The well itself is considered holy and people take the waters away in containers because of its reputed healing properties.

Understanding the story of how Daniel came to be buried on the site, and the site's importance to pilgrims, adds hugely to the visit. Once you let that soak in it's a visit well worth making.

"Daniel in the Lions Den" - who knew he is buried in Uzbekistan - and around the site you can see the old city of Samarkand that was destroyed

Daniel's tomb was a pleasant walk from the Registan. I believe it is about 2/3 kilometres. It is in a perfect setting. Interestingly to see he is so revered by the Muslim people, I was not aware of this.

Great site to visit - picturesque but also interesting in regards to culture and beliefs. Pilgrims come to see the tomb of Daniel and to drink from the spring. As in many places in Uzbekistan, you have to pay to use your camera.
