- kenny.27 contributionsNice beach away from touristsCame back here after many years, so many things changed. Beautiful beach was washed away by the waves. So sad. But the government has been trying so hard to revive it. Still beautiful beach, perfect temperature for swimming or just strolling around and chill out at 1 of the bars along the beach.Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 18 October 2023
- mandy_moopsSheffield, United Kingdom125 contributionsPeaceful and beautifulBeautiful beach away from the hustle and bustle where you can relax for the day! Top tip, visit the little bar / restaurants for a sun lounger for £1.50 for the day which is then free if you eat. The food is lovely!Visited April 2024Travelled with familyWritten 12 April 2024
- Aleksandra K5 contributionsWonderful holidays in Cua DaiAfter being destroyed by the typhoon, the beach was rebuilt and sea defences were installed. Beautiful sandy beach with palm trees, clear water, an ideal place for swimming and relaxation. Beach loungers are free with a drink order. The restaurants serve great seafood at decent prices. We stayed at the wonderful River Beach Hotel and had a great time. Near the hotel there is a small family restaurant Blue Wave, which serves excellent Vietnamese and Western dishes and the best banh mi.Visited May 2024Travelled with familyWritten 13 May 2024
- StefanHamilton, Canada127 contributionsNice beach, though being restoredThis is a very nice stretch of beach, from in front of Hoi An Beach Resort and then running north. Very busy in the afternoon with events (girls’ soccer match) and in the early morning (locals exercising), with a great view of Da Nang and the Cham islands. Note that erosion had affected the width of the beach so it is being restored (so you may see some barges doing a bit of work). You can enjoy a drink in various spots, with seats and tables provided by local vendors.Visited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten 15 July 2024
- contaakt33Honolulu, Hawaii205 contributionsCua Dai BeachCua Dai Beach is definitely the quiet half of the Da Nang/Hoi An beach coastline. The beach is much less crowded and it is relatively clean. Cua Dai does not have the popping excitement of My Khe Beach, but it is a lot more relaxing. There are not much public facilities on the beach.Visited July 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 22 July 2024

Beautiful beach I would say. We was introduced with a tour but found out it would be fine to chill here. Try not to bring a plastic bags and make sure you ask the price before buying anything even a coconut.

After winter storms, there is little left of this once gorgeous beach. Local businesses have suffered dramatically. Lots of sea defences have been constructed, but needs a major civil engineering project to restore the beachfront. Approximately 1 mile of beach is affected. No indication when things will return to normal.

Really peaceful beach, not nearly as busy as My Khe. If you’re looking to relax the resorts here are great. Post covid and monsoons there is a lot of construction, but we didn’t find it very noisy. It’s only a 10 minute cab to Hoi An. We’ll be back.

A lot of old reviews mention the typhoon from years back that took out some of the beach. That did happen, but many of the businesses have built the beach back. If you want a lot of nice sand, go to one of those. Man’s restaurant is a nice place to rent a chair with the price of a drink or two.

Sad to see such a beautiful beach eroded away, but that's nature. And looking at the powerful waves I dont think the sand bags will be of much use. I do feel sorry for the local businesses that rely on the tourists. Picture taken 28th january 2020

Give this beach a miss for a while. It suffered from extreme erosion some time ago. At the moment it looks like a mine site with dredges pumping sand back up. I am sure it will b beautiful once again when finished.

Hi there, can you tell me if the locals all come down to Cua Dai beach aswell at 4pm? Or is it just An Bang beach where this happens? I was in Hoi An 10 years ago and went to both beaches but can't remember which one I preferred. It was the one that had the locals all come at 4pm and set up their bbqs etc... But as we stuck with this beach for the rest of our trip I'm not sure if the other one had the same where locals come after work at 4pm aswell? I am returnign to Hoi An in Sept and trying to work this out for I can find accomodation that is close by...
thank-you!

Help! I have a trip planned to the Cham Islands (so excited!) but I am so confused. My flight lands in Hoi An in the evening, then I plan to stay closer to the Cua Dai Harbor, where I will get a ferry to the islands in the morning.
How do I get to the Cua Dai Harbor? Is there accommodation I can crash at before catching my early ferry?
Please help! Thank you for your guidance.

You will fly into Danang not Hoi An. Hoi An is not really a big town as far as travel times go. Any hotel will be able to arrange a cheap fast transfer for you. The taxis are an option also although language could be an issue. They are extremely cheap. Be aware if the seas are rough they may not run the boat.

Hi! I intend to visit Hoi An in the midle of may. There are many negative reviews about distruction of the Cua Dai beach. On some photos only a big amount of bags with sand. But on the others photos - good sandy beach with sunbeds and ambrellas.
Can anybody call a landmark on the shore, where begins normal for rest and bathing beach?

i ve booked some accommodation there from 20th march and seeing the reviews wondering should I cancel and stay in Hoi an -do people know how long the diggers etc may be there ? thanks

If you can find a cheap accommodation in Hoi An then you are better off staying there. You can always hire a bike fora dollar per day and get to the beach. Its not all that far.

We stayed in Cua Dai and were happy to have the peace and quiet and the ability to pop into Hoi An when we wanted to.
There a lots of bars/restaurants and cycling into Hoi an takes about 15 mins or 7 mins by taxi/minibus.
It was a great location.
The beach at An Bang looked better but we were there during the rainy season so didn't relax on the beach at all!
Have a fabulous holiday, we did!
