- BrakiWorldTravelerBelgrade, Serbia20,006 contributionsVery good wheel in an empty parkRiding this Ferris wheel was the most exciting thing in Asia Park. The park was almost empty, no queues anywhere so we finished everything in an hour and a half. Ferris wheel is very big, visible from almost all Da Nang and you have magnificent views of entire city when you reach the top. Open until 10 PM. Included in a very cheap entry fee of around 7-8$.Visited January 2024Travelled with familyWritten 3 February 2024

- michelle skinnerSt. Catharines, Canada2 contributionsA breaktaking viewIt is an amazing experience to ride the Ferris wheel at sunset. You get a breathtaking view of Da nang's buildings slowly transitioning into Twilight, while the vastness of the sea stretches out before you. While the rooftop bar offers a great perspective of the city at night, the Ferris wheel takes it to a whole new level. As the cabins rise higher, the cityscape unfolds beneath you, offering a cool and unobstructed panorama. If you have the chance during your trip, definitely consider riding the Ferris wheel for an unforgettable night view of Da Nang.Visited March 2024Travelled soloWritten 29 March 2024
- Mariness D198 contributionsOld school carnival vibesThe ferris wheel does have a great view of the city. We went at night, so it was nice to see the city all lit up. The speaker wasn't working, so rather than music, all we heard was static. The ferris wheel is located inside the amusement park. It's free entrance, and you pay for the activities separately.Visited September 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 19 September 2024

It felt a bit scary on top with the wind at night.
Loudspeakers instead of music were playing out a lot of static.
Felt easier on the way down.
It's worth looking at the night city from this 100m+ height.
Try it out.

The 115 metres in height Sun Wheel is the main attraction of Da Niang’s Asia Park. It looks spectacular at night when all lit in neon lights. For most of the day it waits idle as the park hours are from 4:00 to 11:00 pm.

The sunwheel is yet another poorly run Vietnamese theme park. Before I bought my ticket I asked the staff at the counter if the Sunwheel was operational, because it wasn't moving - they assured me it was working fine.
After I went in I found out it was down for maintenance until the afternoon - wonderful.
I went back out to the counter and asked for my money back because that is the only reason I went there, and they had assured me it was working. Unfortunately none of the 15 young staff members crammed into the counter office were 'authorised' to give me my 50,000VND back, or in fact even a voucher to come back another day.
I was given the manager's email address but she never responded to me.
My advice: Rather than having 50 staff members per 5 customers invest in some radios to communicate with the sunwheel operators. Also, some training for the staff wouldn't hurt. There is no point having staff everywhere if they don't know what they're doing.

We went to the Sun Wheel to get a good view of Da Nang. We hadn't realised that this is an amusement park with many different rides. The cost of entry was AUD$9- for the rides, and AUD$14- for a buffet meal as well. The buffet meal was fantastic. There were tables with different nationality foods and a seafood table. All great quality food. We went on the wheel when we got there, and again at night. It didn't open until 3pm to miss the heat of the day, and we spent 3 hours there. Well worth a visit.

We paid 235,000 VND ($10) for admission AND the World Buffet. Be sure to get that combo ticket.
This included an exhilarating 20 minute ride on the wheel, access to the park and buffet. I’m sure you could ride the wheel more than once. After the crowds at Lady Buddha, Marble Mountain and Ba Ba Hills, I was surprised there were NO lines here.
Be assured that buffet dinner would cost $60 most anywhere else in the world.

This giant eye looks out over Asia Park and Da Nang. We experienced it on the wheels 2nd anniversary. The ride is free when you pay 200,000 vnd to enter Asia Park. The ride takes around 20 minutes and is a great way to see the city at night. Not many crowds at the wheel when we went.

Went w couple of times to the Sun Wheel (Sun World )
Paid around 235,000 dong for the entry plus buffet dinner
Well worth the money. Even if you don’t like to go on lots of the bigger rides, all are free, so many to choose from, apart from the dodgems, (bumper cars) which for some reason have to pay 20,000 dong, which is still cheap and well worth it
Nice place just to wander around too, always seemed to bbe very quiet, with no queues or noise
The all you can eat buffet is a must , just for the value alone
The choice of foods, from lots of different countries, all freshly cooked , with free soft drinks included
The whole park is very well maintained, clean and well looked after, and the staff always so polite and helpful
The big wheel is good too, if you not afraid of heights, try it during the day, then go back when it’s dark, for the great views all around Da Nang

How many times can you ride the wheel on one ticket? I'd like to go in the afternoon and again at night. Is it per ride or just one park ticket that covers everything?

Can you go on just the sun wheel or do you have to pay to enter Asia park? Just wanted to go up to experience the views, thank you in advance

One has to pay the full admission price for the park and the wheel: still for Western standards you won't need to rob the bank...

it is roughtly about 100m and it has 64 sealed glass cabins. It takes about 15 minutes to complete 360 degrees.

What time does it open and how to get there from Dragon Bridge?
Written 4 March 2015
Opening time is around dust and that is a good time to go as the city lights up including all the wonderful bridges. The previous advise about a taxi is correct it is very cheap and the wheel is a bit isolated to walk to at night. Well worth the time. Have a great trip.
