There are lots of exhibits to see and its nice to stroll around the grounds. The museum itself we found a little hot, no air conditioning and some ceiling fans were not on. If you are interested in Vietnam's war history its worth the visit.

Lots of photos and old military machinery. Doesn’t really explain the war very well. Only go if you are a fan of military

Spent 2 hours walking around and reading the information about the French and Americans. Always good to see things from the other side. Well laid out and easy to follow directions. Very peaceful and quite. The gardens and uncle Hos cabin were nice. Very proud people. The staff were also helpful.

A must visit museum , Rick history of Vietnamese war with decent display of weapons, artillery and aircraft and tanks on display.
It’s run by Vietnamese Army personnel - decently surprised.

I took my teenage daughter to this museum. We found it to be empty, with no electricity, stifling hot, and mostly a collection of framed newspaper-picture enlargements on the walls. The staff acted like they hate Americans. We did not feel welcome.
I’ve traveled through the US and Europe and visited several war-sites, museums, concentration camps, and memorials.
I am accustomed to the universal protocol that ALL deceased soldiers are honored. Every soldier was once likely a young man or woman simply fighting for what they believed in and were taught, and ALL lives are sacred.
Well, one won’t find such objectivity here! Americans are very demonized in this museum. Either we were brutally slaughtering infants and children, indifferently munching on sandwiches while standing among scattered baby corpses, or we were cowards, terrified of the Vietnamese as they “exterminated us.”
I was so offended at the re-telling of history in this museum that I wanted OUT of the country and regretted choosing Vietnam as our destination. I strongly recommend that Americans avoid this horrible sh*t-hole excuse-of a “museum.”

We had only 4 hours in Da Nang before catching a flight. Nice greeting at the ticket office, free lockers to store your backpacks. We were the only people there and what a difference that makes. All signs were translated to english. Highly recommend. Walked back to the airport in 45 mintes.

I am prior service US Army Vietnam Era Veteran who was not particularly for that war and who found this to be an extraordinary display for so many reasons. Yes, the place is being renovated and needs a little TLC as others have noted, but for a few dollars you will see one of the most splendid military displays likely in the world! Been to a lot of museums and this is one of the best IMHO. Take some snacks with you (I would’ve brought a couple of beers too if I would’ve had a small backpack). Like the Genocide Museum in Phnom Penh, a couple of beers might help swallowing this...
There are: a reception building where you pay and get a helpful brochure, the military museum Zone 5 building (three stories and many displays), museum devoted to Ho Chi Minh, another building that I didn’t go into (looked like part of the military installation), a replica of Uncle Ho’s House, and a lovely garden with a beautiful pond. I spent almost four hours there, and enjoyed every bit of it. Highly worth your time if you even like history a little bit...

If you are interested in History and Military History, I recommend a few hours walking around this one. I provided a very interestin look at how, over the centuries, the Vietnamese fought back invaders of their country. I really enjoyed the time I spent walking around and exploring the grounds. For sure there are better and nicer museums but your time will not be wasted here. It does need some updating which most likely never happen. All of the displays of American Military equipment had the typical anti American slant as all other Military Museums in Vietnam display. This does not bother me as a 26 year US military and Vietnam veteran and if one is OBJECTIVE, this does not distrack from the visit.
