Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our tour (given in a Toyota truck, not a jeep) meant sitting on benches in the open truck bed. Thank goodness the benches were padded as travel through the heavy sand had us sliding and bouncing all over. Ours was a private tour though as many as 8 or 10 could have fit in. By law, only Bedouins may operate the jeep, camel and climbing tours here. Among the dunes are massive eroded pillars of sandstone rock in beautiful colors that change with sun and shadow. A photo I wanted but couldn’t get as we passed was three lone camels, colorful saddles intact, grazing on the sparse shrubs.
The truck did stop, first at a steep sand dune so high others were climbing it to reach the top of a rock formation. After hesitating, we did too. And were reminded of how hard it is to climb with shifting sand underfoot (we're in our mid-70's). I’m not sure the views were as satisfying as the fact that we made it. Another stop was a Bedouin tent site where we were offered tea and a chance to purchase souvenirs (what a surprise). It was the drive itself that was so glorious, however . . . for nature-lovers it's the kind of beautiful experience that brings your blood pressure down. The views of sand and rock, the colors, the wind as the truck moved, the utter sense of quiet and isolation made it very memorable.

We (my wife and myself) contacted Yahea Mohammad (cellphone: +962 777769917) via WhatsApp while vacationing in Aqaba following warm recommendations by a family who had toured the place with him a week before. He responded immediately, detailed the tour options and quoted. We closed the deal for the next day. To our request he also arranged a taxi from/to the hotel. The taxi picked us up exactly on time and Yahea was waiting for us at the site reception. We spent 5 hours touring all of the Wadi attractions including the red sand dunes, three natural bridges and a walk through canyon. After a canton walk Yahea surprised us with tasty tea he had made for us on a fire. He is pleasant, communicative, friendly and knowledgeable. As a native Bedouin of Wadi Rum he told us about the culture and life style of his tribe and family. He speaks very good English. We warmly recommend him as an ultimate guide for Wadi Rum.
After sunset he drove us back where the taxi driver waited for us for the ride back to the hotel.

I didn’t know what to expect and was concerned about riding in the back of a Toyota pickup truck with family members young and old. The rock formations and and desert sands were beautiful on this pleasant April outing. The driver and tour guide catered to the needs of the passengers. Preplanned stops were made for pictures and exercise throughout the two hour drive. Lunch at a large Bedouin faculty with many other tourists was cafeteria style with tasty offerings. Overall, a very good experience!

The desert is very nice and the experience is ok...BUT..do not sleep there in January if you hate the cold...even if on booking they say it is heated accommodation..this means they will give you a lot of blankets..:))...it is really very cold weather after 16.00...
