昨年6月に新潟市を訪れた時に見ました。日本最長がこの川なので、日本には世界を代表する大河はないと思います。

信濃川は、長さが367kmある、日本で一番長い川です。私たちはフェリーで新潟港に着いた後、信濃川の河口近くにやってきました。
この辺りには、有名な萬代橋をはじめとするいくつもの橋が架かっていて、朱鷺メッセがあり、また、河畔は万代テラスとしてせいびされていました。ゆったりと流れる大河の河口は、散策にもとても良い場所でした。

小樽港からフェリーで新潟港に着いた私たちが初めに向かったのが、朱鷺メッセなどがある信濃川の河口近くです。この河口近くには有名な万代橋が架かっていて、その橋のたもとは万代テラスという名前で整備されていました。さすが、日本一の長さを誇る信濃川の河口付近は、川幅もとても大きかったです。
私たちは、この日から１５日間甲信越を中心にめぐりました。信濃川と呼ばれているのは新潟県域だけでで、長野県に遡ると千曲川と呼称が変わるんですね。

新潟中心部にある萬代橋と一緒に日本最長の信濃川を見学しました。雨が降っていたせいか水かさが高く少し怖さを感じました。日本最長の川の河口にしては川幅が狭い印象を受けました。

信濃川は日本一の長さを誇る川としてとても有名です。今回、初めて、「信濃川」という呼び名は新潟県域を流れている部分で、その上流・中流域を流れている長野県では「千曲川」と明確に区切られていることを知りました。
私たちは、信濃川の河口に築かれた新潟港からフェリーに乗って北海道へと渡りましたが、離岸するフェリーから見ても、日本一の川の雄大さが感じられました。

新潟市内のど真ん中を日本海へ流れる一級河川信濃川。萬代橋からの眺めは四季折々変わって趣があります。
今回は風が冷たくなって薄手のコートが必要でした。
雪の日はさらに大変なのでしょうね。

新潟市の中心地を走っています。天気が悪い時は万代橋、八千代橋などどこも風がかなり強いですが晴れた日は新潟の魅力はこれだ！という景色を見せてくれます。

「日本一長い川」と名前だけはよく知っている川、萬代橋の上から、メディアシップの展望台などから、初めて見ました。滔々と流れるという表現がぴったりで、朱鷺メッセの先はもう日本海という景色は感動的でした。

新潟県の南魚沼市から見た信濃川です。
数年に一度、新潟に遊びに行きますが、信濃川はその象徴的な存在。
新潟に来たなと感じさせてくれます。
雨量が多い時を見たことはありませんが、普段は静かで穏やかな流れ。
癒されます。
