Quiet beach

No big waves, good for small kids and children. Not the cleanest, but not too bad. Found some nice small shells.

It's small. The waves are weak since they are blocked by typhoon barriers. No flashy sunsets or mezmerizing views here.

It's was cold time we went there. A lot of children play and laugh near beach side. We saw 2 eagle flying around. It's was quite peaceful walk as isn't crowded on Sunday^^

Atami beach is reminiscent of the côte d'azure. It is Monaco done right as per Japanese regard to quality. The landscape is beautiful and the beach is pristine clean. The water clear as crystal. You'd be hard pressed to find better in Thailand or Philippines. Thus is what beaches aspire to be.

It depends on what season you visit Sun Beach, which is an artificial beach. It is popular in summer. Watching the firework displays during summer, fall & winter from here is beautiful. It is an attractive sight in the evening, with its sands sometimes illuminated by colored floodlights. Overall, the beach is an added feature that gives us an opportunity... More

We went to this beach Labor Day Weekend on September 5th (off season) while staying at a luxury ryokan called Atami Fufu. We spent a couple hours here having fun and building sand castles. The water was perfect for everyone as there are no big waves. It wasn't crowded either and the weather was perfect. We sometimes had problems with... More

Easy to watch children in the shallow water, and get some exercise if you want to swim out to the floating docks. Protected area from any serious waves. Hard to find this much sand in this area! Not worth going out of the way, but if you want to see a Japanese city on the ocean with plenty of restaurants... More

The sand on Atami bach was imported. The place has a slightly artificial feeling as a result, although the town has lots of onsen, nice little seafood restaurants and nooks and crannies ...
