Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a Rinzai sect temple located at the tip of Cape Afuto, the southern tip of the Numakuma Peninsula. It has long been famous as a place of prayer for safe voyages, fertility, and safe childbirth, and the vermilion-painted Kannon Hall standing on the rough rock face jutting out from the cape is truly magnificent. The day I visited was blessed with calm weather, so I just wanted to take a nap in the hallway of the prayer hall. The sound of the ocean waves calms the mind.

It was very quiet temple.
Entrance fee is 100yen.
We had to hike 10 minutes from parking.
Great view, good sound of wave.
Worth it.

It took some effort to find a bus going to this location, but there is one from Matsunaga station. Note that the bus has a limited schedule. Once you get there, you will enjoy the view as much as the temple. The small temple is dedicated to a fertility goddess.

Wonderful location on a cliff. Easy parking and walk to the temple. Only a moderate number of steps for a change.
Worth a visit and only a short drive from Fukuyama.

I can't describe how to get there but the view was great! It's also off the beaten path so you can go anytime and it's peaceful.
