Lovely view

Wish we give more time to explore this national park on the way to Shiretoko. We did a lovely walk, and nearby in farm land we saw Red Crested Cranes!

Don't visit too early in the Spring, as the area has not 'sprung' into Spring, and the Cranes are nowhere to be seen. You need to spend some time in the Observatory to benefit from the experience, otherwise, give it a miss.

Is not a tourist friendly attraction, you need transport and a long distance view camera to enjoy. Else its just a plain view, you can hear animals voice, maybe catch the species very far from you. Alternatively, you can walk through the path from one train station to another, to enjoy the 'Nature'.

Beautiful place for nature lovers. The view of the marshland is great and thw walk on the well maintained wooden path is easy and enjoyable with a lot of trees, plants, butterflies & dragonflies.

The Kushiro National Park observatory is a good stop to view from altitude, and by walking, the sprawling lowland and inner paths of the area. A 2.5 km loop of the area can be done in under an hour by foot and is a fairly easy route. The price to go the top of the observatory is only worth it... More

We go in 14/7. The weather is good. The walk take about 1 hour within the defined path which is about 2500m long. The path is easy to walk as the trees are very tall. However, just managed to see a few butterfly and spider only.

Take a nice gentle stroll along the green path. Breathe in the fresh oxygenated air. The trail takes about 1 hour along the 2.5km route.

This is an excellent, short walk with views of the Kushiro National Park. The boardwalk trail through the aspens was covered in butterflies. The birding was not great when we were there, but it was quite hot. I suspect if you went here in spring, you would see a lot more birds.

A must do although as I recall not as long as the ones elsewhere in the park. The tower itself gave fine views.
