A very relaxing and enjoyable stroll which ends at a pit of boiling mud. This is a gentle walk which is not too taxing for elderly folk. We had a great time admiring the autumn foliage and fresh air.

This trail is beautiful to walk but it is not too long. There's a scalding hot foot onsen, and bubbling mud area due to the sulfur under the surface. it's a nice little hike, which ends near a bunch of tori gates at a shrine.

We visited in winter (February) and it was great to walk the trail when it was covered in snow. You can hire skis or snowshoes from the Eco Museum but you can also wak in just boots as we did. The is a hot spring...More
