This building was located just at the junction and the architecture of the building looked old. But it's interesting and good for photo taking. Didn't visit the inside though.

Great visit for children as they explain how money is produced and the history of Japan's currency. There is also a small gift counter at a corner before you leave.

Grand old historic building. Very contrast architecture design compared to most. Nice to add to your photo album.

It's a historical site where the Bank of Japan was based, creating the stable economy and currency necessary for the development of the country, and the building is pretty but not enough to go way out of your way for.

The Otaru Branch of the Bank of Japan is the home to a wonderful collection of exhibits detailing the origins of the Bank of Japan, as well as how it established itself, an exhibit on the printing of money and the vault of the Bank (open to the public). Being allowed to hold a fake pack of JPY 10m is... More

The museum provided an informative history about itself and Otaru. It is not as big as I expected though. Most of the information are in Japanese.

The museum is not that big, so one hour is more then enough. I very much enjoyed it even though a lot was only available in Japanese.

This is the only museum of its kind that I have ever visited. It is informative as well as interactive. I cant recall of any country being so forth coming about its central bank and its currency. The 18 minute video about currency, as the last poi before exiting this museum, is worth viewing.

It was very interesting to have a look around the inside of this grand building, it looks great from the outside and when I read who designed it I thought no wonder . The Architect Kingo Tatsuno did lots of the banks building but he also was the Architect of the amazing Tokyo Station . There had been a bank... More
