I did enjoy the Temple but even more the walk through the park till the little restaurants on the top of the hill. Then I went down the hill from the other side and quickly reached the AEON mall. Had a nice day!

After dropping my luggage at the airport I went back to checkout Narita and came across this park. It's beautiful and a great way to wind down before taking a 10+ hour flight home. Lots of rocks, statues, and water. Definitely worth checking out.

Narita-san park, right next to Narita-san temple is quite a large and very nice park with three large ponds. It's the perfect place for a stroll and to relax before a long intercontinental flight.

Visit this when you have a long wait at the airport, or better, it is one of other good reasons to stay in Narita town instead of at an airport hotel! There is a forest area with caves, a lake area with Japanese garden themes,...More

Narita is more like a day trip. So long as you have already scheduled what you want to see and do in Tokyo then 2-3 days of downtime is possible in Narita.

I don't know if it is forbidden or not, but actually, I did not see anybody eating at the park. There are some areas to seat and rest, and besides that there is a cosy restaurant where you can have something to eat.
