Definitely worth to try. Great view of Mt. Fuji and lake Ashi. Very interesting to watch when you get close to Owakudani station the steam vents on the volcanic zone. The rope way goes from Ashi lake over Owakudani valley. You get beautiful panoramic views.

Only way to get to the top for getting great views. The ropeway is old and needs Renovation but the views on top are the best.

We loved it so much, we did it twice! The price of the ropeway was included in the Hakone Free Pass. Well worth every yen.

This ropeway is starting to show its age with old Gondoliers and structures. The gondoliers take around 40 people which is very crowded. Once you get to the top there is very little to see except a couple of golf courses and some very clouded...More

The Ropeway is a Gondola which takes you up the hills. The scenery is awesome. You get a great view of Lake Ashi (behind you), as well as volcanic fissures which look like smoke is coming out of the earth. The views are awesome, and...More

Overall 2 hours is good enough from start til end. One hour on the top of the hill and there is a small temple also so its a nice scenic view.
