Get the three day pass, you can't do everything in two days. Well worth the price and the views are amazing.

Please see my review on "A must do but with careful planning" The review covers the details of how to get to Hakone from Tokyo. Once at Odawara, you can get this pass and it is worth it if you plan well and use it extensively. For that get there early so you can use this pass for several commute... More

This is a convenient pass for few days of stay in Hakone but not a day trip. I got mine in Shinjuku station after waited in a Long queue. There were only 3 counters with personnels who could speak foreign languages and it was informative. Generally, this pass covers all the transportation taken in Hakone and can be used unlimited... We used this pass for our travel (mostly by bus) around the Hakone area. We found the bus system easy to understand and were able to get to all of the things we wanted to see. We also used it for a boat trip on Lake Ashi that was very pleasant and was probably something we would have missed without... More

We purchased our pass at Odawara Station. Once you arrive off the Shinkansen, come through the ticket barrier and a short way along to your right you will see stairs going up to the next level. There is a lift to the left side of the stairs if you have heavy luggage. Once at the top look for the Odakyu... More

Hakone must have the best marketing organisation of the whole of the country. Once you buy the pass for 4000 yen you're virtually committed to doing the round trip, which turns out to be running from one type of transport to the next, queuing at each, and in the rush missing any sights that may be worth seeing. You'd be... More

We purchased the three days Hakone Free Pass and it was worth it. We used it every day riding the buses, and when we did the loop, we did not have to pay for any part of our transportation to Odawara train station. We purchased our Hakone Free Pass at Mishima station. Take the south exist to the bus stops,... More

We used this today for tram, train, bus, ropeway (cable car) and sightseeing boat, not sure if its value for money but it saved me paying for each form of transport individually. We purchased ours with our ticket from Shinjuku to Hakone with the Romance train.

We wanted to see Mt Fuji and had been debating whether to join the expensive day tours to Mt Fuji or go to Hakone instead. We decided on the latter and it turned out to be an excellent decision as we could take our time looking at Mt Fuji from various spots. Hakone itself also turned out to be a... More
