Hakone pass seems like a affordable and convenient way to get to and around Hakone. The transport system is well organised, punctual, clean etc. While thats great, they forget to mention what is most important - that the the ropeway and ship were not operating....More

We wasted money on the Hakone pass. It rained throughout the main day we wanted to use it having bought it the afternoon before. The rope way was cancelled (lightning) as it had been the previous day, and the cruise boat was a sight unseeing...More

We bought the two day pass only used over one day. We were lucky and had good views of Mt Fuji. The only advice I would give is take the trip clockwise but only till the second ropeway and then return back the same way....More

it is a great spot to descend from hakone ropeway cable car and stop of lunch, check out the views and the sulphur fuming crater. extremely windy and cold in spring, be sure to have warm clothes with you. we opted for a small restaurant...More

We bought the 2-day Hakone Free Pass ticket from the Shinjuku Station on the day of the travel itself (after we changed itinerary for that day). Unless you will get the Romance Car going to Hakone, there are trains going to Hakone-Yumoto every few minutes....More
