Currently exhibiting paintings of Masato Yanagisawa until mid-Sept '17. Beautiful depictions of primarily European cities. Only introduction in English, everything else was in Japanese. There were also good gift shops there where you can buy reasonably price prints, postcards, fabrics etc. Entry fee of 1,300...More

An eclectic group of mostly contemporary Japanese artwork. This is a limited collection that will take only 30-60 minutes to absorb. Our party were charmed by it an purchased several reproductions.

We went there, because the lake cruise was cancelled due to bad weather. What a beautiful small museum with wonderful art. Enjoyed it tremendously. Beautiful watercoulours, Great landscapes, Good views over the lake from the museum coffee shop.

This museum has a lovely selection of art and fantastic views out over Lake Ashi. It also has a lounge area where you can sit and admire those views.

As others have noted, much of the art work in this museum was created using shavings of precious minerals that are more vibrant and longer-lasting tban oil or watercolor paintings. Highly recommended for a visit!

The paintings are unique because many of them are made exclusively out of shavings of precious and semi-precious stones. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing them. Also, the views from the museum are spectacular. This is definitely worth a stop.

Pretty. A nice collection of unique kaleidoscopes and some nice glass objects. The paintings were generally pretty but not special. And the entrance fee was pretty steep for such a small venue. The food was pretty good and the view across the lake was great.

While the collection isn't great, it's a wonderful museum to visit. From the bus station or boat terminal, it's right across the street and then up 3 escalators. There is a view across the lake and while we sat there, Mt.Fuji magically appeared. Perfect view...More
