I have a wonderful time at the Open-Air Museum and regretted leaving that place early for Gora Park.

We visited 2 days after an unexpected snow fall but paths had been cleared and the snow added an interesting dimension. Some world renowned pieces in a lovely setting. Well worth a visit but try not to fit it in as part of the Hakone round trip, it deserves more time, at least two hours.

This is a very good idea to let people enjoy art. Outdoor statues and a Picasso pavilion. Recommended once in the area.

The Picasso collection here is decent. The outdoor art pieces are quirky and nice. It's a good place to start your hakone trip but it's also ok to skip if you are out of time.

Beautifully situated in the mountains with breathtaking views there is this excellent collection of sculptural art. Make sure you have at least two hours to walk all the varying paths and turns and see the abundant pieces of art. Indeed very impressing!

Beautiful art, beautiful and unique setting. We were here several years ago and had to fly through in an hour. Came back and spent more time--well worth it. Take some time to relax and explore. How did all this get to a remote part of Japan???

Wasn't planning to stop here, but so glad we did. If you have the chance to see it in the snow, do! Good gift shop, too. Kid play structure is good, but it's not like kids can climb on everything here like some of the reviews make it sound.

The setting for this museum is magnificent. Our favorite stop in Hakone. Great for families as kids can run around, ours particularly loved the star maze and hot foot bath. For those that have been to Denmark, the grounds reminded us of the Louisiana.

Superb setting, great works beautifully displayed, an mazing Picasso pavilion with a number of works I had never seen in Europe either in reproduction or reality. Strongly recommended. It is quite expensive at ¥1800 entry fee but you may be able to get a ¥100 discount from your hotel/ryokan.
