We got here via the Ashi Cruise, (we availed the Hakone, Mt Fuji 5th station, cruise and ropeway to Mt Komagatake from a tour agency in Tokyo). It was wonderful experience since the tour agency took care of everything (transportation, admission tickets and included with lunch and tour guide). The admission tickets to the ropeway was handed to us by... More

Loved the rope way. Was lucky enough to get a clear day. Plenty of gasps and excitement from everyone in the car when you come over the top of the Hill and see Fuji for the first time. Boat ride across The lake at the bottom is also delightful

The gondolas were cool with great views. The mountaintop was interesting with geothermal activity and unique cultural items.

Rode the train to the station at the bottom of the mountain to catch the cable car to take us to the Ropeway. We was given a mask in case the smell was to bad at the top. Once you enter the car which is very well organized and you seat down and take off. You see the most remarkable... More

From mount Fuji tour Hakone was next. We passed by the hotel in Hakone for our lunch before we proceded to the cable car ride from the lake side going up. The cable car view was really very spectacular and breathtaking although at first we felt frightened because the wind was very strong and howling. When we arrived at the... More

I don't go on these type of things but I put my fears aside because this is a very special place to view the whole area including Mt. Fuji. The service was polite and the entry areas were not crowded. It was a secure feeling in the gondola so I coped well especially with the outstanding scenery on all sides.

Really good experience. You can see and smell the steam flowing out the volcano. You have to try the famous black eggs. There is a beautiful store to buy souvenirs.

The view of Mt Fuji isn't as good as I was expecting. There are much better places to see Mt Fuji (if this was your only chance of seeing Mt Fuji up close, then maybe). IMO the only leg worth doing is Souzan- OWaku-dani. As the carriage on the ropeway clears the side of the hill to the Sulphur pits,... More

To me, the hakone ropeway was a means to an end. Meaning that the station from which u take the rope way was more fun on its own than the actual journey. But it was still worth the actual getting there to. The actual station is on an active volcano so you can not only smell the sulphur heavily in... More

The view of Mt. Fuji and Owakudani Volcano are spectacular, and this was part of our 1-2-3-4 "punch" in Hakone, together with a boat ride on the Ashi Lake, a visit to Hakone Shrine and of course soaking in a hot springs.
