A mid sized zoo that can be completed in about 1 hour although we were rushing before it close for the day in 45 minutes flat. It is relaxing just to see the animals lazing about but this zoo cannot compare to UENO ZOO in size.

Nogeyama Zoo is a small zoo located in an old neighbourhood in Yokohama not too far from the Kannai shopping area. The zoo is free and relies on donations as well as gift shop/ restaurant sales for revenue. The city government also supports the zoo. Nogeyama Zoo's greatest strength is also it's greatest weakness. There are a number of interesting... More

Zoo near Yokohama city center. You can sightsee by combining with Minato Mirai and Yamashita Park.

A small zoo were particularly the large animals are kept in very small and dated cages with little room to move. The zoo is free entrance and nicely located with very friendly and helpful staff.

Really nice zoo to visit. Great surroundings and animals look well kept for the most part. Lions cage a bit small but may have been undergoing renovations. Not easy to get to from Yokohama-koen. Took a bus but takes a good hour

Nogeyama Zoo is old style zoo. That is... small cages and small site. But it has some advantage points. 1. Admission free 2. Very close to the station. It takes only 10min on foot from the nearest station (Hinodecho, Keikyu line). 3. Its site is so small that you can walk around in 2hrs. But you can watch the "Brand... More

We came in free, perhaps because of the light rain. We had our kids (12,11,9) with us. Highlights are : -petting zoo area of small animals like guinea pigs, mice, hamsters. Kids love it. Timings see last photo. -lots of vending machine near petting zoo area with many benches and seats, canopy covered. There was a machine selling hot food too... More

Been to the Nogeyama Zoo and spent half a day there. Unlike other part of the world, here entry was free and the zoo was maintained and organized very well. A great place to spend time in Yokohama.

This is a nice treat if you visit Yokohama. The zoo is free and it is layed out really good. When entering you can pickup a map of the zoo to plan your route so you see what you would like too. Their penguin part is really good.
