Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The ferry was clean on time and offered cool views through the 40 minute transit. The ferry transit was right near nokogiri which is a beautiful hike! Be aware though that the train station is about a 10 min walk and the train only runs about every hour. A cool experience across Tokyo bay.

The Kurihama - Kanaya Ferry across the entrance to Tokyo Bay is a fun round-trip and a bargain for pedestrians. (Tokyo Wan-Ferry Kurihama Port). The boarding and dis-embarking process is easy and staff very helpful for non-Japanese-speaking tourists. Huge car-ferrying vessels go back and forth pretty much all of daylight. About a 45-minute one-way trip from Kurihama to the Chiba Prefecture. About 1,450 yen each adult round trip. Their web site has a good English translation. Fascinating to watch how the Ferry boat crew expertly dock the craft in tight quarters and get all the cars and passengers off and on the ship in timely, efficient fashion. Several very nice restaurants and attractions in Kanaya. We did not ferry a car across, so cannot speak to that experience but the pedestrian experience was so enjoyable, we did it twice in a week. Highly recommend it!

Ferry service from Kurihama, kanagawa prefecture to Kanaya, Chiba Prefecture.
Crosses the Tokyo Bay and takes about 40 minutes to cross one side. There are ferries departing every 40-45 minutes with the last ferry departing at around 7 in the evening.
The ferry can be used for transporting cars as well as bikes.
One can enjoy the breeze across the Tokyo bay and watch the large freight ships crossing the tokyo bay by accessing the top deck of the ferry. There are also comfortable seating arrangements with a cafeteria within the ferry for the passengers.
This is a good one day activity from Tokyo. Take the Keikyu railways from Shinagawa to Kurihama and then reach the ferry terminal from Kurihama station using a local bus / cab . Book return tickets for the ferry (discounted) and enjoy the round trip with a halt of around 1-2 hours in Kanaya.

Takes roughly 40 minutes to cross from Yokosuka to Chiba. You can take your car or ride a bus over. Most people are on foot and you will see people with their bikes going over to Chiba area with.

During the summer we bought a promotional combo ticket for the ferry with car and two people, and 2 tickets for the Mother Farm in Chiba. They let us buy and board (Drive-on) the ferry with 4 minutes until departure. From there we left our car, and went up to the passenger areas which appeared a bit shabby, but there are plenty of chairs and snacks to buy. The seats by the windows get taken fastest. I would have to say the ferryboat drivers were either very skillful or a little bit risky because the ferry stopped short at one point for apparently no reason. However, off in the distance a Compressed Natural Gas tanker was coming to pass in front of us. Let's just say we were dangerously close to the tanker, but not touching, at the end of its cut across the ferry boat path. The ride is not very scenic, too much industrial development on the coasts. This is the best way to get from Miura Peninsula to Nokogiriyama for the (2) Big stone Buddhas and the "view into hell" sheer cliff overlook with safety railing.

My trip on the ferry was awesome! It wasn't very crowded on either of my trips (my ride home was during rush hour & I still had space for a quick nap). They have food & drinks for purchase along with a beautiful view of the bay.
