Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A must-see tourist spot in the storehouse town of Koedo Kawagoe!!

I went there during a three-day weekend, so it was overflowing with a huge number of tourists!

Kawagoe's storehouse town is full of great places to eat and enjoy gourmet food, so it's no wonder it's a popular tourist spot!!

This place is an important landmark of Kawagoe so go for it. You will not only see the clock tower but also streets in Edo era styles. For me, it is worth visiting the Toki no Kane.

It is located in a nice street, it is like going back to the old Japanese era. Lots of souvenirs and delicacies.

A bell has been rung in this building to tell the time since the early Edo period. The currrent tower is the fourth version after the older tower was destroyed in the fire of 1893. It is rung four times daily and we missed it. It is an interesting wooden structure with more interesting buildings around.

Just a short distance from the main street, warehouse district of Kawagoe, stands the Bell Tower, Toki no Kane, which is a grand landmark and symbol of Kawagoe. The bell chimes four times a day 6.00, 12.00, 15.00 and 18.00. The tower stood talll until the Great Kawagoe Fire in 1893 when the structure was destroyed. In 1894 it was rebuilt and this is what we can see today.

It's a simple bell tower around the middle section of Ichibangai shopping street. It's the icon of Kawagoe, but it's simple enough that just 10 minutes is enough to spend on it.

Old history on the tower and how the bell is being used in ancient time. Lucky they kept and/or restore it. Its easy to locate the street with signboard indicated.

A goast from the past that still make you shiver with its sound. I was lucky to be there tonight and hear this powerful yet soft sound of this old soul singing through the night at 18 o'clock! Felt like I was back 400 years, standing in the corner waiting for my handsome Samurai to past by(^.¥)
