Massive carved stone Buddha, carved after WW2 as a symbol and location for continued peace and harmony. Very beautiful.

The statue is in an interesting location and is worth a visit in combined with the two other sights. If you climb to the top of the cilff you will have a nice view over the area.

If you are already at the Oya Stone Museum or the Oya Temple, it is definitely worth walking over to the statue carved into the mountainside and walking up to the overlook.

Not exactly a big destination in itself, but worth the walk after you visit the Stone Museum. Not much to say except a large Buddha statue set in the hillside and gardens.

It's really huge. You can walk up the statue. View from the top is great. No entrance fee! Free parking at the city parking lot. Free guide (only in Japanese). It's also a power spot for the young Japanese people. Very close to Oya Temple

People usually visit it when they come to Oya Temple and the Oya Stone Museum. There are shops selling things made of oya stone. If they are open you can see oya stone workshops.

If you are visiting the nearby quarry or Utsunomiya this is a must see. I don't imagine coming here if it's out of your way but it's a lovely place.

Oya Heiwa Kannon is a big statue of Kannon, made by Oya stone. It is located nearby Oya temple, but unlike the former this site is free for entrance. It is a nice photo spot.
