If Tenjin is a shopping area for tourists, Kawabatadori is an unpretentious shopping street for the local people. When you go out from subway Nakasu-Kawabata station, you can find this shopping arcade just in front. This area is also famous for nightlife.

A local street shops. Mainly for seniors rather than young people. Good place to experience the local daily necessities goods. Colorful fruits and vegetable stall draws my attention.

Indoor shopping street near Hakata Riverain and Canal City. Shops sell a variety of Japanese crafts and products, with some restaurants.

Another arcade. More shops selling local craft / stuff. Perhaps mood was affected by the rain (whole day), and so did not notice any other interesting finds.

I don't understand what the big deal is. It's an arcade (roofed) shopping street in Fukuoka. Very similar to streets other cities have.
