We stopped at the lake on our way to Ibusuki sand bath and nagashi somen noodles. It is so peaceful and green around the lake, a perfect spot for a picnic.

I wish I'd listened to all the other negative comments about this place, and not wasted my time going. In February, the flowers aren't there, so it's not pretty. Therefore they don't expect tourists, so there are only a few tacky tourist shops selling the...More

The area is very nice and the flowers are very beautiful. Shame that there isn't a footpath that allows us to walk around the lake. The restaurant next to the lake serves very good food!

The view is not stunning at all, except the blossoming yellow flowers. If you don't have much time, you can simply skip it.

There's a gift shop that contains the biggest eel (live in a tank) along Lake Ikeda! Apparently the Japanese Royal had also visited before. Aside from that, the lake is quite large and the view is peaceful.

This is the biggest crater lake in Kyushu. As there are not so many restaurants, souvenir shops around so the atmosphere is good but one hour bus interval was too much. I would not recommend unless you drive a car.

We were on our way back to Kagoshima Airport from Ibusuki. Not much to see by oly a point of view for a stop by location.

It is known as the largest lake in Kyushu. I saw people went fishing in the lake. It is good to have a walk around the lake. We spend only half an hour time and went to our next destination.

This is our pit stop for a quick rest and enjoy the scenery of Lake Ikeda while driving back from Ibusuki to Kagoshima.

We went there when the rape flowers were blooming. The lake itself was ordinary but it looked much more beautiful with the yellow color of the rape flowers.
