They have some rides for small children in the center of the zoo. Shrine for animals. Conditions for some of the animals not so great. Cages do not make good photo opportunities.

Kumamoto Zoo and Botanical Gardens is a wonderful place for tourists to get touch woth the nature, apart from the plants and flowers, there are also animals, both childs and adults like this place

Get off the tram at the zoo stop no 24.Walk straight across the road heading west.You should see a path with zoo animals on the side of the path.Head down the path following the pictures.After 5-10 minutes you should see the carpark straight ahead.500 yen to get in and you get a map which allows you to walk around naming... More

quite a wide variety of animals for a small zoo. however the cages were tiny by modern standards - a bit like they used to be 20 years ago in the UK before things have improved. but they did appear clean. there was also a small fun fair for children and gardens which were well tended.

Kumamoto zoo and Botanical Gardens is the only one zoo in Kumamoto. The scale is not very large, but they have elephants, giraffes, hippos and other animals which you can say are "most popular animals in zoos". The entrance fee is just 3 hundred yen even if you are adult (kids 100 yen). There is a restaurant and snack section... More
